  1. Have a look at this fella, should give you rough idea http://www.motionaero.com/files/Mocal_Oil_Thermostats.pdf
  2. Cheers, can't wait til its actually on the road again! Well even to here it start will be nice :-)
  3. And the rears completely different, seperate springs and dampers and it all mounts differently!
  4. don't think it will. The front struts have a drop link to the anti roll bar, were as the vr's us the wish bone. And the r32's are wider so you wouldn't be able to fit the anti roll bar. The layout of the struts are different, i don't think the camber is adjustable like that on the vr's. But on a posititve note, if someone has done it, then fair play to them! I just can't understand why???
  5. I've got a Helix single mass flywheel, Helix fast road organic clutch kit These turned up the other day too Fitted the clutch and flywheel today Pulled the flywheel on with a couple of old bolts i had lying around Then put in new bolts and torqued them up Then put on clutch plate and cover plate. Torqued them up, but too 25 lb/ft rather than the 14.5 lb/ft vw recommend. Then fitted the new slave cylinder and had a clean of the inside of the bell housing Then put it all back together Lovely job! Big thanks to Mardi Gras Motorsport for supplying the Helix clutch kit, and the next day
  6. Have you sorted your pistons out matey? I here you've got a new clutch coming!! ;-)
  7. Why don't you go to a scrappy and get a small selection of 2 pin plugs from the engine bays of some vag cars. It needs to be 2 pin with 2 slot grooves in it to fit the pump
  8. Quality mate! Yeah get some pics up, can't wait to see what sort of figures you get!! :-)
  9. Been doing a few bits in the evenings this week. Fitted my oil feed line for my turbo, fitted my front goodridge r32 brake lines, and test fitted my manifold and turbo. Get paid monday so lots of bits to come next week! :-) Hopefully my clutch and flywheel, brake pads, most of the parts to build my exhaust and a smaller wastegate as the 50mm one i bought (its for sale now) just won't fit anywhere with my custom exhaust manifold!
  10. Cheers fella, only a few months left to crack the worst of it of! And give it a damn good clean and polish-oh how i miss polishing my vr.... :-(
  11. Hey, hey, got me some bouncy bits yesterday!!! :-) Next step: Get paid an buy clutch and flywheel, finish exhaust manifold, and modify the start of my tunnel to except a 3" downpipe! All good fun :-)
  12. Yep, not too far from either, got any SO postcode though, and live in Droxford? I know theres a few lads near Portsmouth :-)
  13. Yes, there is 6 bolts that bolt the inner cv to the gearbox flange, undo them and it will come off as 1 lump.
  14. You need to un-bolt it from the gearbox, clamp the driveshaft in a vice, and then beat the outer cv off. It may sound harsh but its the truth!!! A few hard whacks with a bigish hammer should do it :-)
  15. Yeah the bolt can be turned if you undo the nut nearest the casing, and yeah heard about that too. I'l probably experiment with the setting a bit, but run it close the half power, so 25% going to the rear. The bolt will turn and open/close the valve, then the inner nut just locks it off.
  16. Because the relay will switch the power to the pump, so that the dash switch doesn't have alot of current running through it. Relays make switching power to high current devises safer, i.e haldex pump. Just think that the fuel pump, lights, windows, abs, ecu, etc are all operated via a switch switching a relay.
  17. I don't see why not, but i'd use a relay switchd by a switch to control the haldex imo, makes it that bit safer, but yeah it should work.
  18. A turbo kit with a turbo thats un-named and only has a 90 day warrenty? No, no, no, don't do it! It'll cost more to sort out if your turbo explodes and f**ks your engine up! Imo go with jims advice, source your own parts, take your time fitting them, and reep the results! :-)
  19. Sounds like some steady progression into insanity mate! With 4wd i think you could go for as low as 11's, possibly lower depending on the set-up/driver etc. I've never been up ANY strip, so i'l probably stall the first time!!! :-) But what i've learnt throughout this project, is that anythings possible!
  20. Yeah i think so. Is that what your thinking of doing?
  21. http://www.bildon.com/catalog/DetailsList.cfm?ID=9093DA&Nav=6&SubNav=62 And i did buy them ages ago, i think it was near £500/£600, but can't remember mate!
  22. Erm, if i left the prop on the front tranfer box, and switched the haldex pump off in the rear diff, then yes i can just run fwd. The haldex is at the rear, the transfer box is at the front. Thats why i wanted the switch, to switch off the rear diff for motorways, traffic etc. No need to disconnect the prop! Simples
