  1. No' date=' because these engines are more efficient than the 12v, it actually takes less boost to break them. The 24v and 12v run the same conrods as stock. Not only in America is big power made on stock internals and a spacer plate. I and a handful of my friends have run engines like that for many years between 400 and 500hp
  2. Yeah I think you should. I tuned a ~500hp Rotrex R32 at 1 bar and it had no problems at all. The picture above is an American 12v intake.
  3. It all depends on how the air is delivered to the intake manfiold. If it is a very linear increase in pressure vs a harsh increase in pressure.
  4. Turn the main live input around on the starter motor. (Thick wire from the battery to the starte rmotor.) When your selecting reverse the selector on the outside of the gearbox is shorting to this positive connection. Be careful: If you leave the car in reverse the battery positive lead will melt causing a fire.
  5. You cant use a VR6 flywheel with an 02M gearbox. Here is a picture of the 2wd conversion plate:
  6. A 4 cylinder gearbox doesn't fit on a 6 cylinder engine. We sell a blanking plate to do just what you want to do. Click the email icon below this posts to contact us.
  7. Did you cut any wires when you took the old engine loom out? When you say fob, what fob do you have? Is it an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser. The standard immobiliser system has no control on dash lights or control over switched live.
  8. Checking and clearing fault codes is only half of fault diagnosis. Measured values need to be compared to real life values, ie coolant temp showing -20 degrees on a 10 degree day is clearly wrong, but it is plausible to the ECU and it would not bring a error code up for it.
  9. 0261200495 ris for a distrubuter engine and is a non soldered ECU. Do you require the standard chip?
  10. Depends which ECU version you have.
  11. The chip is stock. We can solder a socket into your ECU no problem.
  12. Signs of the lamination failing I think,
  13. So you appear to have no boost reference line connected to the waste gate? The EVAP connection on the manifold open to atmosphere, and a dump to atmos dump valve?
  14. A common myth.... Too lean will melt your engine, too rich will wash bores/rings and contaminate oil causing bearing failure - which is better? 9 AFR will cause black smoke from the exhaust and wash the piston rings way. I wouldn't drive it anywhere like that, sounds like you have injectors twice the standard size.
  15. Its there to straighten air turbulence. Removing it will alter the characteristic of the MAF.
  16. Have a look around the water pump. Top up with pure anti freeze not just water, then look for a residue the same colour as the anti freeze on all suspect places.
  17. A quick google search came up with this: http://www.ilexa.co.uk/acatalog/vagcom.html
  18. You can change the bearings with the engine still in the car. It is easy enough, remove the sump and the oil pump to make it easier.
  19. Jim is a dealer for us. The ECU will need to be removed and sent to us if it has not been remapped before. This is because of the soldering that is required.
