The rich people dont care the price of fuel so it doesnt effect them.   5. OBD2 doesnt use a ISV Sounds like you got the parts from a galaxy, the loom wont fit in a golf.
  6. Fuse box is the same, There is NO EGR on the Golf OBD2 system.
  7. Bin the OBD1 and all your problems will be solved.
  8. You can not just plug an OBD2 ECU into an OBD1 loom, it wont work. You need to change the management loom too.
  9. You will need to change to the next generation of OBD1 ECU to do that, so while your changing ECU's you might as well go to OBD2.
  10. 5 wire MAF will not work with OBD2, plus the OBD2 4 wire MAF is 500 times better.
  11. My wifes Golf 4motion returns a minimum 330 miles to the tank every time, the on dash display showing 27-28mpg. This is from full to the warning light coming on, she has a thing about always filling up when the warning light comes on. So I know it'll do atleast another 30 miles. She doesnt hang about either. On longer runs the car will easily do 380 miles per tank. With the technology we have these days, and the cost of fuel, that engine wont be staying long!   12. Remove both trailing arms from the car. Remove the arm bushes by means of fire. Replace with powerflex using a press. Refit trailing arms.
  13. Immo box is dead. You have 2 options 1. Have the immobilizer removed from the ECU. 2. Replace the immo box, recode to your car and key, which is going to be ALOT more expensive than option 1. We see this happen all the time.
  14. It 100% is an interference engine. If I had to guess, I would say the rear cam is out of time.
  15. There is one camshaft per bank. Each controls both inlet and exhaust valves for that bank. Oldest trick in the book, selling a car with a wrecked motor, fitting a wrecked starter and selling it saying "It just needs a starter."
  16. There is a reason that the oil is getting so hot so fast and it isnt the oil cooler....
  17. From the 140hp OBD2 AES engine, that has SAI and EGR. VERY restrictive.
