  1. here what your saying about people been stingy with money. get some quotes first. then tell them how much you will do it for. They can take it or leave it.. it will be there loss, Also and this sounds silly but never be keen to do work for some reason people wont trust you as much. Now i have no interest in working on car i keep getting offered job for good money as well, where as before when i wanted to do it and id say stuff like ill do that for you + cheep price and it rarely happened, unless they new abit about it and could tell it was a really good deal. As far as getting a job i nev
  2. yep pure dirty. thats the kind of thing i want to go for. But im struggling with a misfire so what hope have i got lol
  3. that's why i like it. seems to make sence in so many ways. Ive seen people use the oil breather to top up the oil, might not need it but you could get rid of the oil filler and make it a few inchs wider I see you concern kev. are you saying on a long trip it might start to heat the water though heat soak? never though of that. what do you think about the pendum (what im calling it now lol) is filled buy the charge cooler
  4. always wondered how you lock the rears when 4 wheel drive
  5. I want a scooby wrx sti or evo 8 next. does what i want my dub to do but better than it could ever do. shame really as i love German build and look wise.
  6. i like your awic intake john. what does everyone think of these kind of setups compared to the sri and separate charge coolers. Will it cool just as well or better? you have runner compensation with johns and nice sized runners will it still do the job of been a pendum (dunno how to spell it lol) even though its filled with a awic? how much power do you make at what psi
  7. yep thats all fine. happened in the space of about 1/2 hour and no matter what i do i can't get them to work again. Its got to be something silly but i can't think what it is. had no problems first time and now im finding it a mare Im going to just stick the front end back on, wheels, get all the front lights wired and working up and take it upto stealth to finish the rest :-( misfire, N/S indicator not working, and now the bloody clocks. This is the first time ive ever taken a car to a garage so its really winding me up to think im going to have to pay someone around £60 an hour or wha
  8. i like the 32 rims and the brakes are looking good whats going on with that little cut out on the exhaust manni cyl no5? about 2cm long on the right hand side?
  9. Getting quite angry now lol. when i first got it running i just plugged everything into the fuse board with the looms just all over the place over the floor ect. Turned the key and everything worked fine (apart from the misfire) So while waiting for my new ecu I unpluged everything and re roughed all the looms where they should go, now it all still runs ect but i have nothing on my clocks apart from the mileage and hazzards. Non of the clocks temp, revs mph fuel work now :@ Its all plugged in properly. anyone have any ideas to what might be causing it?
  10. This is whats happening to my nangkangs when i order some proper tyres. best thing for them
  11. thats rubbish mate. there tonky bastards badgers lol. my mate hit one in a smart roster thingy. spun out at 110 and fully wrote his car off. Rabbits piss me off, the amount ive saved from swerving and nearly killing myself is silly, most arn't that lucky whats funny is natural selection takes place and soon only the cleaver ones are left and there not as much as a problem lol and now since fox hunting has stopped theres loads of them about . hit one the other day which was bad. one animal i HATE to see hit buy a car is cats. mine got merked buy a car not long ago and i proper loved h
  12. I'm a mid 70's kid I'll have you know.... n yes vince IS the man who can i hope so.. got to go see him in the next few weeks
  13. Pikey bodge imo. gfs do springs for, £50. much safer
  14. Ah fair enough then. yeah think awic is the one, with the intercooler built into the standard inlet. add ice and its gota be better than air / air
  15. air con cools air well. why not just use the little matrix in the air con system in your boost line as a little cooling intercooler. bit like an air to water intercooler but just run the aircon gases though it instead? Thought it might work quite well
  16. Thinking driving it to vince or any VW god to fix my misfire. Is it safe? i don't want to trailer it there. Its not giving fuel to the missing cylinder so it shouldn't be washing the oil off the bores. Can anyone else recommend anyone thats upto the job? Tom

  22. Ive got a misfire and tryed everything possible. been trasing the fault for ages and the only thing left it could possible be is a fault inside the ECU its self. I know its unlikely but id be very gratefull is someone could let me plug into there ECU for half hour to see if my fault goes away. Its odb2 and the numbers on it are Bosch 0 261 203 968/969 021 906 256 24 little vw sign 74 date 14.06.96 26sa4098 1739 0326 thanks Tom
  23. don't think anyone will be up for it but ill give it ago. Does this mean that i need the immobilizer disabling off the next ecu to try it im my car? was hoping that was done between that black box by the column and the key
  24. Its the same as running on the min mark on the dipstick. which is fine so i can't think there's anything wrong with it. Dan who advised against it and what where there reasons? If you wanted to be anal about it, it might raise oil temp a little bit as there's less oil to spread the head, doing an oil change slightly more offen would be a good idea as the oil might age quicker because theres less oil. but apart from that the oil levels the same distance from the crank and pick up the same distance from the bottom so im thinking all is good I got my pick up for £90 from VW but i did blag a
