  6. if its really just the doors which are damaged then id deffo salvage it and find some replacement doors (plenty of 5 door golfs in the scrappys.... where u will have trouble is if the b pillar is damaged.... luckily if she was in a range rover there shouldnt be damage to the sill or chassis because of the height of the rover

  8. it wouldnt be the color concept i saw on ebay a while back with the owner saying it was cheap insurance because he hadnt told dvla about the conversion would it??? at the end of the day you will be paying the insurance company but u WONT BE INSURED... its really not worth it

  11. u mean like Western Union?? if so then yeah u r prolly stuffed:( i thought that ebay had warnings about not sending money via western union and the like?? i know this is a bit horse and stable door but always use paypal for ebay tbh
  12. whenever ive needed to do this sorta thing i go to the local kwik-fit on a sunday when the management isnt about. when the manager isnt there i find that the guys generally do the work for free as long as theres a couple of beers in it for them:)

  17. the way i would do it is take both the red and yellow wires and twist them together. make sure the ignition is switched off. connect the red+yellow connection to your in car wires in turn and see if the stereo turns on. if the stereo will turn on u have found your constant power wire, this should be wired to yellow, then connect red back to the ignition power soucre (or leave them both connected if u want the stereo to woirk with the ignition off.) if theres no wire that will run the stereo ignition off while connected to red+yellow then u need to lay iun another line to the battery ( remembe

  19. it may well be a sensor but the new control unit was only £20 so i thought id swap that out 1st... how will i know if the control unit needs setting up once its swapped???
  20. that sounds daunting....does that need to be done professionally??
  21. ive been having some ABS fault light troubles and have got hold of a replacement control unit to try and solve things.... from what i can work out this is simply a case of unplugging the old one and plugging the new one in... is it really this simple or is there something im missing??? (i wopuldnt want to cause myself any new problems) thanx *EDIT - this is an OBD1 car with the control unit under the back seat*
