Hi there, my mother has a problem with her mk4 glovebox and owning a mk3 myself i cant fathom how the system is supposed to work... basicly the two prongs which should keep the glovebox closed no longer spring back out into position, meaning that the glovebox wont stay closed. due to the nature of the design i cant seem to get to the mechansim as its within the moulded plastic of the glovebox door:( i have a feeing that the handle may be able to be levered off to give me a better view of the mechanism but i dont want to break it... otherwise it looks like it would need a whole new glovebox doo

difficult to put a value on it m8...in the current climate its all based on what someone is willing to pay which is prolly not a huge amount... but that shouldnt affect your enjoyment of the car... and thats what its all about i agree with moochalargo...post some bigger pictures so we can see it properly;) -
sure sounds like it

wow those tyres are looking a bit on the bald side... or are they street legal slicks???

is the rear of my car too high
Karr-Man replied to Eddy_y's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
it looks a little high to me...but not much.. could be the difference between a full or empty fuel tank??? also mines 5 door so a little heavier at the rear -
having shifted one about my garden and fitted it single handed id say...bloody heavy;) i would guestimate about 45-50kg if yr scales go high enough the u just have to get on them while holding the gearbox... then take your body weight off the result...

nah...its too much for me... also be a bitch to be clean and on a sunny day u run a serious risk of blinding ppl who then crash into u....OUCH:/
-
ok i reckon its either power steering or air conditioning... if u look at my picture the power steering pipe is the one rinning across the front crossmember and curling underneath on the left of the picture... my car doesnt have A/C so im not sure where the piping for that runs...

Anyone know what this warning light means???
Karr-Man replied to Karr-Man's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
i think it seems to be connected with the cold... gave a m8 a lift out to aylesbury yesterday were there was snow on the ground and it came back on again for the trip back... dont really mind that much now tho seeing as i know what the light means and i know my pads are still ok:) -
HOLY CRAP!!! i cant believe u r gonna pay that much for insurance... personally id say get some more ncb behind you b4 getting a VR... whats the point of haveing a 2.8 v6 and then teasing the throttle everywhere u drive so u can try and get the best fuel consumption out of it... it kind of defeats the object doesnt it??? and ive gotta come back to the insurance price again... thats over £10 every day, whether u drive it or not... b4 tax and fuel... its crazy... when i was 21 i bought a sierra cosworth and payed £1500 fully comp on insurance... all my friends thought i was crazy, and i had to

at least u have the small consolation of knowing the bastard got some physical pain and a substantial injury...

HELP, acceleration hesitation problem
Karr-Man replied to petrolhead's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
certainly possible... to check the coil pack either run the engine at night and look under the bonnet for arcing, or check whether all the plugs are sparking... do u have a later type coilpack or a dizzy??? -
i love my VR but really... what are these guys on??? traction control does a good job of controlling torque steer??? does it bollocks!!! it does sweet FA is what it does better on the track than some race prepared cars??? tbh they should fire whoever prepared those cars, cos they sure aint gonna win the race, standard VR handling is nothing to write home about, i should know, i still have standard suspension:/ 24valves??? ORLY i really wish they stuff they said was true, but on the standard car, it just isnt...

Dash mpg read out not working
Karr-Man replied to PaulMonan's topic in I.C.E, Security an Electrical
do u know how to use the different settings for the MFA? i think its most likely that u have just selected position 2 on the stalk and the MPG is an average over a really long distance so doesnt appear to change... position 1 gives averages for the current trip and position 2 gives ongoing averages... moving the switch to the 0 on the right and holding it there for a couple of seconds will reset the ongoing averages and the 0 on the left will reset the trip averages -
