another option is you tell him you car runs on a vac pump which is a plunger and a 1 way valve. think bicycle pump, these were fitted to old ford engine's. you'll never hear one of these running lol
-
not bad price considering it includes a de-cat and is free postage. i have an ashley cat back but in mild steel coz i dont like the tinny sound of stainless, it was only 220 quid is not to loud but gives a very satisfying subtle burble, i bought a de-cat from a club member and fitted myself, all in the set up cost less than 300 quid. but if you want stainless go through the for sale forums mate you'lll always fine one there

What is the disadvantage golf vr6 convert to lighten flywheel?
gavinvr6 replied to faigolfgti's topic in Engine Tuning
faster acceleration faster deceleration, with the kinetic energy of the heavier flywheel gone you just have to work the throttle a little more but its hardly noticable -
Bit of advise regarding buying a netbook please! :-)

if you want something to use for vag-com or tuning look into a second hand panasonic tough book, you can get the touch screen one for a couple of hundred quid and apart from the3 little plastic side trims you could drop it or throw it if you get the hump then just keep using it, they truley are tough. but only down side is no optical drive. -
i had similar probs with a so called german performance car specialist who took 4 weeks to do an engine swap, and in the process busted my gear selector burnt out my wiring loom and burnt out the ecu then had the nerve to try and charge me extra's for him fixing it all. now i will not use anybody who isnt reccomended by a good friend or if i can i'll do it myself

cant see the link i have an ACER ASPIRE one netbook. so long as you dont go trying to run to much at once it's a perfectly good netbook. as per all computers you want bigger processor, bigger memory and bigger storage, if you want to play films then a decent graphics card/module -
check isv. if it runs ok when driving and only stalling on idle most likely isv, coilpack will miss fire under load or when driving most often when pulling off as the car will bog down

how do you mod the mk2 pedal box to run hydrolic clutch?
-
tsr down the west country do a kit for 125 quid mate, but get a couple of spare mk2 golf clutch cables to keep in the boot as they tend to snap easily. the clutch will feel very heavy as it wontbe hydrolically assisted just the power of your left leg shifting that pressure plate, thats why it feels stiff. rado pedals involve drilling 3 holes and some minor tapping to flatted the fire wall a smidge. join mk2vr6.com

the cross member can be either mk2 golf or corrado. the fands and rad fit from mk3/rado/vento vr's but the mk3 and vento ones need slight modding to fit. also if going cable clutch you can buy a conversion kit from tsr for 125 quid. it uses seat o2a clutch cylinder and bracket and golf 1.3/1.6 cable, try to find a cable the same but stronger as a few hard launch's will snap the cable. i may go cable clutch if i can get the part numbers then im going to get a tougher cable made. vr pressure plates are propper heavy duty apposed to the golf cable you would need to use hence the need to keep a cou

get a garage to diagnose the prob but dont authorise the work. that way you get an experianced eye look at it. then you buy the parts and talk your brother in law into hurrying up. if chains/guides go its the end of the engine. but then you can get an engine for the same price as parts and fit a new engine. it would be cheaper for a garage to swap the engine's than to change the chains dont worry about people saying vr's are not reliable its rubbish they are reliable. for about 3 months of the year lol. if you behave and service em correctly then they'll last, -
my bro got done doing 68 in a 40. he took a letter from work saying loss of liscence equals loss of job and they gave him the 6 points but didnt ban him. if your work are willing to do that get it then plead stupidity to the judge and tell him your an idiot and you regret doing it. dont try arguing the road was clear and the weather conditions were good or anything like that, dont try to justify your speed or he'll just tear you a new arsehole. basically throw yourself at his mercy and beg. it's probably your only option to be honest it should be 30mph over the limit is 6 points which would eq

welcome to the wonderful world of vr6 ownership, you'll spent a fortune on it but when its ruuning you'll forget all about it. i had similar issue's with my old engine that was on its original chains at 135k. i was told it was chain slap but it turned out to be the belt tensioner bearings were shot. if standing in front of the car it sound like chain rattle if you put your ear next to the coil pack it seemed to get quieter. -
Nex how do you pronounce that in your sig? can you gimme a laymans break down, i work in drainage/sewage and that'll go down a storm as a bumper sticker

i like the originality of the hex caps also it helps break up the wheel slightly otherwise its just a huge silver star. either way an awsome looking build mate. give's me a case of the old green eyed monster over my own mk2 project
