  1. Damage/corrosion to the filter, cracked sump. If it's losing that amount of oil, it will be visible if you clean the excess, and then top it up, stick your ed in an have a butchers. Good luck.
  2. sounds the better option, it's still worth doing, good luck.

there was a thread on this a couple of weeks ago with loads of ideas. check it out.
  4. I've done a fair few as i work in crash repair. It's not a difficult job, as long as you have access to a press and spring compressors. Is the drive shaft bent? they take a good knock before bending, you may be ok with just a cv joint. Is there play in the rack?? On some motors the track rod is seperate from the steering gear, and can be replaced with a new t.r.end. You also say two shockers, is that both front shockers?? or a rear as well as a front? Can you see the rear beam is bent? or is the wheel just out of track? you may be able to get away with just a hub and bearing to straighten that
  5. The cables are for your vents, but i havn't removed one myself, but the cars i have done you can remove and refit the cables, although i do recall a sale on ebay, for a heater box, and it came with the panel still attached! If thats the case you'll have to whip the dash out. Hope that helps
  6. i think your looking at a big bill from the spark, plus the new airbox and fitting, quite a big job i would say.
  7. top job mate. will the corrado T body bolt straight on to the obd1?
  8. and it seems it can be quite a common problem. Vertical movement on the column, not the adjuster. Couldn't find an ansmer to my problem though. I got my ed under the dash today, and saw that the pedal box pin, looks to run through the column, with one or two white placcy bushes either side. The play is definately coming from there. Has anyone had experience of changing these, as it looks like a dash out job to me, because the pin has to be removed???? Help very much appreciated
  9. Sounds like really fcuked brake pads to me. Mainly because the noise was there without braking aswell. Discs and pads i would think. If it was abs related, i think the fault light would come on. Get a torch through the wheel and look at the disc, it will show signs of pads grinding. Do a servo test aswell, just to be sure. Put your foot on the brake then start the engine, the pedal should sink. hope this helps.
  10. what car? Has it got an air bag? Why is it being changed? Are you changing the inner and outer? Dont think i've done a mk3 or a corrado, but i've done a fair few VW's and some can be a right git. You would be better off with a manual, because they can be a bit complicated unless you've done a column before??
  11. you need a piston winding tool really, but if your strong as fcuk, you can sometimes get them in with a pair of long nose pliers and a bit of elbow grease. It's a bit yeehaw though!! If your car is modified and you want to stop quicker, uprate the lot, otherwise just stick with the standard set up. Search the previous threads too.
  12. strip could be a side light. I think they are quite original, but i wouldn't go for em.
  13. get an air line and blow em through. If not strip it and water test it.
  14. Are we talking digital control etc...? No dials?
  15. you need to locate a basic area where the noise is coming from. Could be the clutch on the compressor pulley. Could be a mount on the pump, or a bolt. It could also be unrelated to A/C, at all. Check the belt tension, and the guides. Hope this helps.
  16. got it thanks very much. It was really obvious, but it didn't help reading a thread that said it was on the right of the ash tray. cheers
  17. As said, each to their own. I think it is the tats, purely for the insane power, only the veyron has a chance against it i would think, unless there's others??
  18. '94 mk3 vr. Sorry to ask, but i tried to find the port, behind the ash tray on the right, as said on a previous thread, but there was nothing there. Am i missing something really obvious? i tried sliding and moving bits and pieces. Are they known to be elsewhere? Is it possible for it to drop further into the dash? Thanks
  19. Don't want to piss on the bonfire, but it's a bit slow!!lol A lad at work has a mate with a cinqucento grass tracker, weighing 600kg, running a 575bhp cossie engine. Do the maths, and it's making about 960bhp per ton!! I bet thats a hoot!
  20. If your 6"4 and 115kg like me, believe me, your always trying to find ways to be that little bit lighter.
  21. End of the day, it's a bit of an action shot, and a pussy shaven or not, aint pretty getting into the car. Besides, i bet it looks amazing with her legs.......
  22. You don't say what motor or year. By the looks of the pic, there would be no clutch operation at all. Cant really tell what i'm looking at, apart from the release arm, which looks like it should have a piston to operate the bearing. What's the pedal like now you've sorted the bearing?
  23. I had it out with my snap on dealer today. I told him about VW doing it for 20 notes, his exact words were, "oh right, better get it off VW then", twat. I've spent over 3 grand on tools and he wouldn't even match the price!! No there isn't one on the stay. Cheers
  24. Just thought i'd let you know that the originally published photographs have been removed from that site due to complaints.
