  5. I decided i want to remove them, and paint the tops of the bumpers, door and 1/4 mouldings. The query i have is...are there any clips that go into the visible part of the 1/4 and wings? Or is it sticky on? I need to know if they require repairs/modifications underneath them, so i can order the paint. Thanks
  6. Didn't know VW did a HT removal tool until i saw it on here. That was after i removed them to clean the plugs up, and yes i used extended long nose pliers! yeeehaaw I asked my snap on dealer, and he said he would order it from a german company, and cost me 35 notes. On the description it said Audi/VW HT lead removal tool, and was in a 'T' bar shape. Does anyone have a picture they could post, so i know if it's the correct one, and do any other companies supply them. Ta
  7. I could do all that work myself, but it sounds like it wouldn't be plug and play and i would need some help getting it to run right and recoding etc..therefore extra cost. i'm sure i could pick a lump up for 750 ish with high mileage. So which would work out cheaper??
  8. So if the ecu was replaced on an OBD1 with an enhanced version, the fueling issues and response to upgrades would be obsolete?? I'm trying to decide whether to modify the OBD1 engine in my 94 model, or just buy an OBD2 lump and stick it on a stand at work and spend all my money on that one instead of wasting my time on the OBD1. I am dreaming of huge power increases, as i can keep the cost down by doing most of the work myself. Thanks for your help
  9. Growing up my dad had all the hot hatches/ boy racer cars. MG maestro, xr3i,xr2,astra GTE,Pug 1.9. In the middle he had a mk2 gti 8v, and at the end a mk2 16v. He smashed up the 16v and got his VR6 and owned it for four years, before i kindly releived him of it for bugger all!! Got to be the cheapest purchase of all. At 24, this is my first VW, and i lve it!
  10. If i was to spend say, 6k on engine and performance improvement only, on an OBD1 and an OBD2 mk3, would the OBD2 respond to the upgrades more efficiently and therefore out perform the OBD1, as regards torque and power output, theoretically??
