  2. since my last vr i've had a mk4 anniversary tdi, a mk4 r32 and now a mk5 gti, thinking again of getting a vr6 in good condition, i miss the v6 engine and the go-cartness which you dont get with newer mk5's, are people still getting on ok with their vr's using them day in day out or are they really getting a bit long in the tooth for doing 45 miles each day to work and back etc Will i miss the refinement of the mk4's and mk5's and the 40mpg of the gti Any thoughts would be welcome

  13. Just coming back from town in the missus highline and the fans started going mad and the temp went right up, pulled over and the water in the header tank was bubbling away. Left it sat for 5 mins then drove another mile before same happened so limped home like this. Both fans work and there is, well there was water in the system with enough coolant, any idea what might be causing the over heating please? Gotta get it fixed before monday so she can get to work and do the kiddy runs, doh!! Regards, Mat
