    Have a search around for "timing chains" - it's been covered thousands of times! But as a guide, mine are getting done right now, all the parts needed cost £198 from VW and my mechanic reckons around £250 labour, probably having a new clutch also whilst the box is off.. Chris

    Fault codes now read; 00518 - Throttle Position Sensor - siganl out of range 00530 - throttle position sensor 00533 - idle air control regulation... It has been running fine, albeit the exhaust pops and the tickover is not dead smooth(but hardly noticable).. Can you point me in the right direction please? Any ideas please? Thanks Chris

    Should a code be present if the Lambda is faulty? Mine has also failed on the emissions so i'm thinking the same thing...but no fault codes??.. Chris

    As far as i'm aware,Paypal will only refund you what they can withdraw from the sellers account. So if the seller has a paypal balance of 0 then you ain't getting anything! Chris

    Complete longshot but is it anything to do with the Throttle Body? Only i had mine off over the weekend and forgot to put the plug thingy back in. I started the car and it immediately cut out. It's fine now i've plugged it back in. Chris

    K&N - Personally i would (and have) a BMC Milltek - good choice from what i've read on here Koni - ditto.. Fox Wheels...depends on the style?..

    Did mine but i dont like the way it ticks over at low revs now... When i start the car from cold it stalls instantly, then ticks over at about 600rpm (virtually stalling). It's ok once i've got going. Any ideas why?. Cheers
