  1. I'd like to know this too..mine is the same for 1st gear.. Chris
  2. Could be wrong but i would say they will probably rub.The spacers wont help either as they will reduce the offset and hence push the wheel further out nearer the arch lip. Depends on how low your car is, if it aint that low then you might be ok as long as you dont load it or lower it anymore. Trial fit them and try and judge where the inner lip is in comparison to the outside of the tyre. HTH Chris
  3. I wouldnt laquer them' date=' it'll dull the finish [/quote'] Already have done and it hasnt affected the finish at all - still mirrored....probably has something to do with me leaving them indoors to warm up prior and then laquering them indoors too....Missus wasnt too pleased at the smell though :$ Chris
  4. Always liked the RS4's but not a fan of the 5 spokes. Chris
  5. Have a look here http://www.polishing-kits.co.uk/ Thats where i got my ideas from. They sell on ebay too. Chris
  6. Yep - Both. £20 each (Mount & Brg) from VW. Chris
  7. The ACE 112's..only 2 weeks old!!....dirt cheap ;-)...come without tyres though as the Toyos are going back on my RS8's.. Chris
  8. You want mine ;-)..putting the old ones back on now i've refurbished them .... :$ Chris
  9. I did it myself on my last car - bought some solvent remover stuff from RS - smelt a bit but made things a lot easier.Still involved scraping it off but it literally peeled off using this. I'll have a look to see what it's called when i get home if you want? Chris
  10. Since replacing my old RS8's i have decided that i really liked them. They came on the car when i bought it and tbh they were in a shocking state - badly curbed, the laquer had peeled off and corrosion had got to them. They really let the look of the car down. So being a tight Northener and not wanting to spend much cash, i decided to go about refurbishing them myself. Got a pre-polishing kit from ebay (£17) as well as a final polishing kit (£20), along with some paint stripper to remove the old laquer. All i used was an Electric Drill combined with a bit of graft. Well heres the finished res
  11. Sounds to me like the leads too as mine was doing a similar thing. Two of the leads were ever so slightly damaged and caused an arc. Bit of insulation tape around the leads cured it. Chris
  12. I've just refurbed my old RS8's, they were well battered when i got the car. Took me about 20 hours in total but they look soooo much better. All i used was an Electric Drill and a couple of polishing kits off ebay. Cost me about £50 all in. Chris
  13. At least he's out of intensive care :-) Had to laugh at the quote from Clarkson i've just heard on radio, Hamster briefly came round and Clarkson said to him "You crashed because you're a crap driver" :-) Chris
  14. /\ Cr@p why didnt i think of there...it looks better. Mines lower right of the rear windscreen. Chris
  15. Think i might have got to the bottom of my rear wiper not working - the relay isnt there (or i think it isnt). Can someone confirm the numbering on the relay or the positioning of it please? Cheers Chris
  16. Nice rims (h) They R32 reps? 18's? Chris
  17. All depends on the alloy and not so much the offset(although 35 is what a lot of people run). My last set also caught on the calipers so i ground a chamfer on the calipers.Another method is to just space your wheels out a few mm. Euro look alloys, have a search around on this site, plenty of photos about. Chris
  18. You certain it's not the plugs or leads? I've just changed mine, 1st set of leads arked on 2&3, swapped them again and still arking. So now ive got a bit of insullation tape wrapped around the end of the leads and it stopped the misfire. Not the best method i know, but it worked. Chris
  19. What size are those Rials in that link? 18's? They look huge!! BTW..The borbet BS look sweet.. Chris
  20. Can't see 8" wide wheels fouling the calipers, but you'll probably have to roll your arches with 17's. Chris
  21. Fitted them this weekend, this is the only photo i managed to get and it's taken with my mobile. Well happy with them, cleared the calipers(just). They even fitted Toyo's as a free upgrade due to them been late with delivery :-) Chris
  22. 17 x 7 will be fine as that's what mine are with a 40mm drop.My previous wheels were 17" x 7.5"and they were also ok. Chris
