  1. I was the same too.. drove from Northants to Cardiff to get it, Then handed over the wonga climbed in and drove straight back. We only stopped once on the whole trip cos the missus got tired. Hope you get on well with it!
  2. I also have a raceland manifold.. very pleased after over a year too! Like mentioned above Supersprint do one, but when i got a price from Vin (e38) he was asking £525 for one. Can't see that its worth a extra £300+ myself.
  3. Did you read it tho.. your only allowed to do 50 miles or its extra!! haha.. and in that beast by the time your foot hits the floor those 50 miles are gonna be long gone!!
  4. I used to use normal 95 ron stuff but since i switched to optimax i get more miles for the same money anyway. False econemy running it on 95ron stuff IMO. Best thing to do is have a go mate. Try it for a month on optimax and see what you think. Thats what i did and i never looked back. At least that way you get to make up your own mind.
  5. Thats wierd because i'm pretty sure theres no legalities as to how accurate they have to be. Wasnt there something that happened a while ago with a load of audis that read as going alot slower than they actually were, causing loads of people to get done speeding?
  6. Nioe motors! I knew someone who had one. Loverly interiors and a great sounding engine. He even took that thing to the ring on his way to worthers! I wouldn't mind one. Only problem is the gearboxs often go bang at 50k.
  7. I have a raceland 6 branch on my mk2 vr6. I think i can't agree with what is above more. Don't expect a new feel from it. When i had mine fitted I though it sounded a bit 'Sportier' and it feels like its moved the peak power up a few revs.. but not a huge difference by any means.
  8. Heres something to wet your appitite, the FD at my company has got one as a company car... the git... and no i dont like my chances of having a go! Mod Edit To Resize Pics Moderator edit by: TheGoth
  9. Similar things happened to my old 8v. that tuned out to be the diff+hubs on the box.
  10. My head gasket went a while ago and burnt a hole in the head. With the head repaired and labour + parts it was £610. Which I thought was pretty damn reasonable. If your anywhere near Northants I got it done at the Lion Garage. 01604 750757. Run like a dream since. Are you getting alot of steam from the exhaust? If it is the gasket i suggest you stop driving it if you can as the more you drive it, then more damage could be done to the head..
  11. I've got a RAM Air too... no complaints here.. but the BMC ones are supposed to be very good also!
  12. Looks really good that mate!! Its like you've got all the toys i ever wanted.. haha!
  13. How bizzzare mine split yesterday on the way to work.. i had to bodge it since VW didnt have the part in stock and managed to lose a couple of finger print on the hot manifold below... lol
  14. Yup I get plenty of poppage too comming off the throttle.. not got loads done to mine but it is de-catted and has a stainless manifold on...
  15. @Eat This - I didnt spot you around either mate.. only on the quarter lol.. your seems to be running great at the mo! I think my head feels like its loosening up again now and when I get the gearbox sorted i'll have to go and have another go!
  16. well i've had a indicated 150mph at some nice early hours of the morning in the mk2 I was well chuffed!
  17. Well impressive figures considering the bottom end is still stock!!
  18. Thats very poor mate! I was in a similar predicament when my head gasket went and they couldn't give me a exact figure, but as it turned out it was close enough. Got to say they really have taken you for a bit of a ride there. I had my gasket done a few months ago which included, all new seals + Gaskets head needed some ally welding and skimming and a valve seat recutting, The total with labout was £610 and it runs like a dream. You really need to take it back and tell them for that amont of money it wants to run like brand new!!! I really feel for you though.. i've been taken for a ride by a
  19. Couple of people i know go.. supposed to be a good one! Yeah its north wales..Rhyl.
  20. When i first goot my mk2 vr the clutch went. Cost me £338.99. (including VAT parts and labour) But it is a squeeze in a mk2 and he said they'd have probably been a hour or twos less labour int a corrado or mk3. That wasn't done by vw though it was by Lion Garage in Northants. Top job done too! So I guess in a mk3 350 does sound slightly over the odds mate. Hope this helps. Ed
