    On my old 8v when I had the head replaced with all new parts, including new tappets, I had 2 tappets that were really noisey and never quietened down. Aparently they were just knacered where they'd been sat on a shelf too long.

    Please can someone help me?? I've got a few starting issues with my motor. It started after My fuel pump casing got craked by some debrie on the road. That has now been changed but tbh the pump sounds quite noisey. I then got caught up in a big storm and hit some 2 ft deep puddles getting everything under the bay wet. Now luckily I checked the induction kit and it didn't suck up any water, however the coil did die. So I replaced the coil and the car fired fine. Brillient I thought! Next morning wouldn't start and i had to bump it. It just kept turning but wouldn't fire. But started fine on a

    Thats great news mate.. a bit better than it having dropped a piston eh? I know what you mean about relying on people.. i have been ripped by a couple of garages in the past and am jus thankful i have finnally found a good one now!!

    I think VR's run a little hot.. i saw on here the other day someone mentioning to make sure you always have plenty of coolent in your water..

    The garage i have all my work done at had a charged corrado vr in for a new clutch and he fitted a standard jobbie and aparently it works fine so i'd like to think it would..?

    Right.. I have oil in the water.. but it's not milky or anythin, its jus black oil in the water..? Can't see any signs of water in the oil. Nor have i seen it burn any oil or water. Head Gasket, oil cooler? Any help greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for all the help.. looks like i was a piece missing but its all been customed by a stainless steel welder bloke.. and he's done a cracking job!!

    The standard VR flang style is 3 bolts i think (i know now) and from what i've heard you have to get a custom made up for a 2 bolt flange..

    Unfortunately i bought it off someone else who got it from Raceland so i don't have much of a leg to stand on.. looks like i might have to get a custom decat pipe.. :-( thanks for the reply..

    Ok so my mk2 VR went into the Garage today to have a 6 branch Stainless fitted (Raceland) and the garage just phoned me to sat it wont fit because the flange on the manifold has only 2 bolt holes, and what its mating to (VR standard?) has 3 so i won't fit? So hows everyone else fitted theres? I phoned raceland and was just told very politely he knows nothing about them, they just import them and sometimes they don't fit! WTF! Great customer service! Help me OBD1 Kenobi (get it ) your my only hope! (Sorry for the cheesy joke!) HELP!

    I think they delete old posts now and i can't find it.. but i think: 60ft E/T x 36000 60ft mph? x itself then divide the 2 results. thry swapping the 60ft times around if its a crazy answer.. theres only 2 on the slip relating to 60ft.. let me know what yours is!

    I found a formula on e38 to get you 0-60 time from your 1/4 mile timing slip. On my Mk2 VR i worked out at 6.2. Chuffed

    Looks good but i still prefer the R34 i think tho. Hope it drives aswell too because the R34 was a enginerring masterpiece!

    I believe if tappets are left for ages they can just sieze up.. maybe they've been on a shelf somewhere for a while.. i had this when i hot a new head for my old 8v.. they paied for it all the be swapped too.. just a thought..

    adrian flux or HIC.. i have a mk2 vr6 and HIC did me a cracking deal but im a little older.. maybe worth waiting a year or two? Wouldn't insure it as anything else.. if you hit someone your liable for all damages to both partys cars, and any personal injury too.. then you'd get fined for no insurance, points etc.. not worth it IMO.. you might get away with it with a more subtle mod like a 2L bottom end but vr is a bit obvious.. lol

    The first one is the new diesel concept.. 0-60 in the 6's somewhere and 140 top speed i think while returning between 70 - 100 mpg iirc.. but is was a little while ago when looking at this so the figure may be out a little.. pretty impressive no the less..

    Got exactly the same conversion. I put it on the rolling road @ AmD last week and the bloke there said i can expect around a 15bhp increase!! Can't wait to get mine fitted now!

    I seem to remeber someone i know had a similar think on his mk3 16v a long time ago when he had it chipped, and the ecu was faulty.. maybe if you could try another?
