  1. Nah, he's selling it. It'd be a waste of money putting a pukka set on.
  2. DOH! Of course Pete, should have realised what you meant Now Ripspeed, that's Chav Central
  3. To be fair Pete, I would hardly call Honda 'Chav'. Probably some of the finest NA engines out. Too expensive for the Chavs
  4. Fiat Uno, standard spec. Local guy cliams that his mechanic told him that with an 'Ansa' exhaust system, rejetted carb and induction kit he will kill anything in the area lol he added 'You'll sh*t yourself when I'm behind you on the road' lol yeah, sh*t myself laughing. He's pretty harmless really
  5. As Claire said, the Quattro documentary is quite interesting. Got me wanting an S1 now...
  6. 38.5 was my best on the M25 at around 50/60mph for half an hour. I can acheive between 30 and 34 most days though.
  7. Ooops, apologies! %-6 I stand corrected. I had always been told otherwise. Now i know better
  8. Quite nice and they don't look at all cheap
  9. RMN, sorry to correct you mate, the V6 4-Motion is a 2.9, not 2.8
  10. I don't know if they're worth the money but both the AA & the RAC offer full pre buy check ups. Might be worth the peace of mind.
  11. Gents, I'm not new to the tuning game and unless you plan to exceed 300bhp, what merit over an SC would you get? Prices are 'roughly' the same for both TC & SC but from my understanding the SCs power delivery is smoother and you have no lag to worry about. Assuming you do not plan to make any internal mods and to exceed the quoted bhp figures, what is the extra benefit? Apologies if it sounds like a simple question, I just want to understand
  12. Have no idea about 'Magnaflow', never heard of them. Milltek are probably the best off the shelf and then there is the possibility of having a custom made job from the likes of Hayward and Scott, Longlife Exhausts or Powerflow, the latter of which does not come very highly recommended. The choice of tailpipe will dictate the 'type' of sound you get, with a twin outlet being perhaps deeper in note. The size of the tailpipe/s makes a difference also. The nu,ber of boxes in the system also make a difference to the volume of the sound.
  13. Stealth were right. The ODB2 came with the later engine management and larger throttle body. AMD offer an enlarged throttle body for the ODB1 (not the ODB2) and this is recommended also. Be wary of AMD though, they quote a 10 - 15bhp increase for the ODB2 also, at least that's what they told me.
  14. Oh Poo! How do I correct an error in my post? I meant to say that Powerflow are 'NOT' very well regarded in the German and Jap tuning circles. DOH!
  15. lol He said he 'DIDN'T' want a booming exhaust, so that rules Powerflow out who subsequently are not very well regarded in the German and Jap tuning circle. Chavs love em however Hayward and Scott have to be about the best but they are not cheap. I had a system made for mine at LongLife Exhausts, which Craig has mentioned (exhaustuk.co.uk) Mine cost me

  17. They benefit the uppser midrange and topend but yes, you do lose some bottom end torque.
  18. It does. It's a 2.9 24v which outs out 204bhp at the flywheel. Apparantly asmatic when compared to the VR6 12v.
  19. I had mine since February 2004 and have had the following problems: Thermostat failure - Replaced and compression test done - All OK. ABS Sensor Failure - Replaced one sensor and reset code - All Ok. Driver's Side window closes part way then opens again - Common fault, left it. Juddering under 2k revs - Cleaned Throttle body and all ok. Small thumb nail sixe rust patch under drivers door cill - To do. That's about it and not bad for an 8 year old car
  20. Good thread This is something I have always tried to acheive with all of my cars, that almost factory oem but updated looked, as if it was intended that way. I supposed that look would mean not dropping it to the arches but perhaps leaving just enough of a gal to hint at oem (M3 low) My exhaust is a twin 3.5 x 3 oval slash cut which sits in the aperture quite nicely and I've had it fitted close to the underside and not protruding by much. I wanted that Audi RS look, almost subtle but agressive at the same time. A well chosen set or rims, the right rubber, exhaust and updated headlights and i
