  1. You're doing better than most of Jezza, relatively speaking. A VR6 at 18?! !amazed
  2. Nerih, I see SCs run in the family huh
  3. An XKR is one of those cars that says 'I can if I want to, when I want to...' I sometimes just enjoy driving along slowly and taking in the scenery.
  4. Personally, I don't like split quads, I prefer them behind glass. I like the angel look but it's wearing off on me as I see so many of them around and they're appearing like wild fire on the Vauxhall scene. I quite like the look of the black FK Powerlooks. Simple yet effective.
  5. That's very doubtful simonvr6, a standard VR6, a modded one short of an SC or a turbo will not mince an M3. Not the new one not the old one and not the standard non evo version either. The M3 is a super strong 6 with greater capacity and engineering. That's not to put the VR6 down (which I own and love) but they are two very different beasts and each built to a specification and cost. Now, a poor driver behind the wheel of an M3 will surely get minced by a savvy VR6 driver. Same goes for any car
  6. I spoke with BBT (Big Boys Toys) a couple of weeks back and have their catalogue. Page 23 shows a set of FK Powerlook headlamps vailable in Crystal @
  7. You're probably right Ingham but i could have sworn I saw it attached to a VW dealership website. It was touted as their 'new line' in after market performance upgrades.
  8. Ours was internal, now external, ASP'd, Outsourced! Crap! ~
  9. ... in the cashflow department
  10. I drive a VR6 cuz I'm personally lacking... %-6
  11. This made me laugh... Came across this quote from another forum (there were two identical, one said VR6 the other GTi) Anyway, made me think back to the other posts we have made regarding chavs, corsas, astras etc. *** Isn't the pleasure in owning a Chim - or any TVR - not just the knowing you that you could blow away the VR6 if you nailed it, but the fact that your doing it in a car that looks and sounds the absolute dogs, and, with no fancy driver aids needs an element of skill and capability to keep the thing on the tarmac? The Chim is a ballsy muscle car with attitude. A Golf VR6 is a girl
  12. Did you say the GT-TDi, its' a lovely car, a colleague of mine has one and is very happy with it. Did you know that VW now have a mods division called Sportsline I think (?) I'm n ot sure if it's VW or dealer specific. I came across it a few weeks back by accident. Point is, you can have her chipped by VW and not lose your warranty !lol
  13. Or get any points! I got 6 points and
  14. I manage to take my friend out in his Type R from standstill. Midrange we trade punches but it's when they hit the upper most revs that those things fly but it doesn't last long
  15. Yeah, would that work? Properly I mean...
  16. Hey Fourmotion, we use Citrix, Metaframe. Hate it, how do you find it? Reminds me of Mainframe/Dumb terminal. Wanna come sort ours out?

    Fuel Economy

Best on a long journey between 50 and 70 - 38mpg, took a while to register that mpg reading Worst - high teens, low 20s
  18. Half a mile to work? Where's the fun in that?! My journey is miles each way, warms her up nicely and open road all the way

    Fuel Economy

It's a woman, what do you expect, they change their minds like the wind, one day economical, the next day not...
  20. Probably showing my age here but I agree with Fritzenberg, owning your own property carries far more quodos than owning the 'right car'. Don't get me wrong, I would be tempted but I know so many boys living either with their parents or in some depressing bedsit so they can afford to run the car of their dreams. The cars value will depreciate but the property will gain value which is when you sell the property and use the proceeds to buy that RS4
  21. I remember hearing that it was on Top Gear at it's launch but not what was said. It was however covered on Top Gear once again alongside the Corrado approx 2 years back when Richard Hammond covered a 'Future Classics' topic. Needless to say the Corrado got the vote whoch promptly saw 2nd hand values double. But the Golf did get the practicality vote
  22. and on that last comment, that's the whole point, show them that sort of power increase and they'll eventually fall apart. I know of a chap who has a calibra 2.0 turbo engine ready to go into his nova. Oh yeah, once it's all fitted and 'chipped' he's thinking NOS. He also says he'll leave anyone on the road for dead. I agree, he and the engine will end up somewhere on the tarmac at some point. Then there's the image side of things, the whole Dub scene is about cool, you look equally good cruising or taking it easy, Let's face it, I'd want my Nova/Corsa to be superquick as I don;t think I could
  23. Mine has electric headlamp alignment (via manual switch) looks a standard fit, not sure if it was standard or an option?
