  1. Thinking about these for my Corrado. In the past Ive run Avo, AP Coils and currently have Koni TA + H&R but want to go lower and thought about trying these out but very little feedback on VR6's. Most online reviews do praise them for ride quality but had anyone tried them out?
  2. Im tempted. Is there a detail on what was involved in the engine rebuild i.e. chains/tensioners? Can you get some closer photos of the rust patches. Is there an MOT on the car?
  3. Who carried out the engine work? Are the driveshafts uprated? Any engine bay photos? Is the turbo also same mileage as the engine? Any A/F or boost gauges added to monitor the car?

  5. Trevor or Maurice Reeves. Thats an old vid. Its not a normal Mk2 and if you think thats fast you should see the Mk1.
  6. I asked recently about DIY kit but not plans for that at the moment. The others that Ive heard about have had no real issues at all, I would certainly entertain it if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself. If it were me Id be going for the Racelogic TC at the same time as getting the car done.
  7. Interesting, What extra displacement does the R32 crank give? Im assuming its longer stroke than standard.
  8. The feeling you have with that engine is the way they normally feel. Lots of nice low ends grunt that appears to tail off. Obviously any codes need to be rectified but its just the charatcer of the engine. .
  9. Is the split in the hose not to allow a t-piece in for the turbo cooliant line? Seem to remember on mine I have to t-into that hose when fitting a water cooled GT35.
  10. I think the comment from earlier was why does a V5 Mk4 not feel undergeared and Dox's was pointing out that the overall diameter between a Mk4 Golf and a Mk3 is different i.e. Mk4 had bigger rolling diameter tyres. 205/40/17 for Mk3 225/45/17 for a Mk4.
  11. The Mk4 4motion I have has the Brembo Junior GT kit fitted and its overkill for what I use the car for so Im looking into fitting it onto my Corrado VR6. http://www.thettshop.com/performance...product=600438 Now its seems most use the Leon Cupra Set up but I cant find info on offsets/brackets for using the GT Junior kit on a VR6. Has anyone done this that could say what brackets or spacers for carriers would be involved? Im putting the 4mo back to standard set up as its a pain trying to get wheels to fit
  12. Ive had that before, twice. its probably the seller getting it wrong as the measrue the clamp and not the v-band. Buy from a proper place that sells the turbos like GT3 turbo..
  13. Yes James did a very good job. It was litterally like a new car when I bought it. I dont normally like doing that as I like working on my car but it was too good to miss out on. Im not really a show person to be honest. I might go to Gti International this year but I prefer to use it, not polish it.
  14. 215 is fine and a lot better than a stretched 195 IMO. I run 205's and there still slightly stretched. Speedo will read slighty out but it will only be a few mph.
  15. Ok I bought this thing pretty much ready made in April last year. Not sure if James (previous owner) was on here but he did a very good job on the car. Ive had a few VR's before and also had a 24V Corrado at the time of picking this up but it had to be sold on. I had the car for a couple of week when the turbo oil feed like burst and the turbo seals were fooked. Took this as a sign to upgrade so its now got a GT3582r in there now. Ive done a few things here and there but the car has now run for around 4kmiles with next to no problems. RR recently with fooked CAT and its on 360bhp , 315f
  16. VR6T, 2.8, short runner, GT3582r with 1bar
  17. Ive got an 02a sitting at Stealth that justs been rebuilt with a Gemini 6spd kit if your interested. Kit is brand new. I was going to fit it to my 24v Corrado but Ive changed my mind as it needs other things as the moment plus you sound like the sort of guy that would benefit more from it than I would.
  18. If you are getting rid of your old standard springs give me a shout if they are ok. As for fitting its pretty easy.
  19. Totally agree which is why I went for a 4mo. Get it tomorrow. Anyone interested in a nice Mk3 16v get in touch.
  20. Buy a 4mo or R32. You would need to bascially alter the whole floorplan of the car.
  21. I think the major difference with the s/c and turbo route is that with the turbo you need to lower the compression ratio and in all honesty look at usuing new pistons to get the best out of it. The supercharger seems a plug and play type affair. The supercharger is a bit wasteful as you need power from the engine to drive the belt, if a turbo is set up right you can almost eliminate the lag. Unless you are spending huges amounts and planning on fitting a LSD or 4WD s/c is probably best.
  22. Thansks for that. Didnt think the 4Mo was that much quicker. I miss my old Highline. Probably just go for something similar again. Just need to find a low mileage example again.
  23. Well I am just not taking to the Mk3 16v so I am going to start looking for either a VR6 or maybe even a 1.8T Mk4 however how do these compare performance wise? I would probably end up getting a basic 1.8T remap but nothing more. Might even stretch to a V6 4mo, what are these like as standard?
  24. Anybody used these before? Seen them advertised in the likes of PPC.
