He means yes its easy. Easier if you take the grill off though. Just ease out the clips holding in the top of the grill then do the same on the bottom. The only fidly ones are under the lights.
Awesome did it first then a guy up here in Scotland (which was on ebay recently) then a guy in Newcastle and then Venom. If you have all the gear from the donor car then it shouldnt be too much of a probelm but I think you need custom drive shafts made.
I think as long as it sits in that area then its fine as it is out of the hot engine bay. The kit (as all other)doesnt force air into the intake but just means the air being inducted by the engine is colder that if the filter was sat in the engine bay. Air is only forced into the engine by a s/charger or turbo hence the term forced induction.
Ive done that, it just seems that everybody goes for these kits when you dont really need to. Surely if you remove the carbon canister and route a pipe from the bumper up into the OE airbox this will have pretty much the same effect.
I currently run a standard airbox with K&N panel filter however I was looking into placing a filter in the wing type deal. However I am debating if it is really worth spending money on. Does anybody have a before and after RR report to prove they work? TBH I dont think the cost per bhp/torque increase is justified for these kits.
Still thinking of making my own cold air intake i.e. move the filter down to where the carbon canister sits but how have people protected the filter? Surely if you are driving about in heavy rain etc (remember I live in Scotland) then the filter will get wet. I dont expect to ingest any water and the oil in the filter should prevent some absorbtion of the water but I still see it as less than ideal.
What size allen key socket do you need to get the bolts out on the front calipers? The car is up on the axle stands and I am at my mothers house which is 60miles from my sockets. Also what torque should the bolts be tightened to?
What wheels do you have. As fr polishing its bloody hard work requiring paint stripping and loads of elbow grease etc. Not an easy job. If you want shiney standard wheel get them chromed.
