  1. I figured the SRI and chargecooler would be my best bet, I had best get saving the pennies, things are about to get expensive ! Thanks for the advice chaps !
  2. Cheers for the info guys, been looking around and trying to find a custom kit to my budget and power desires, spa manifold and a gt30 I think are what ill go for turbo wise, now just need to figure out if I will be better off with a short runner intake and a chargecooler or intercooler and normal intake or a combination of both, too many choices with a vr6!, love it !
  3. Excellent news mate !, any recommendations on a turbo other than a gt35 ?, just to see what other options are out there
  4. Would I need to run a custom manifold ?, there's a little space at the rear of the engine but the front is tight, I had to modify the slam panel for the inlet to fit
  5. I'd rather not remote locate it as it complicates things somewhat, okay thanks dude ill have a search for his thread
  6. I'd rather not remote locate it as it complicates things somewhat, okay thanks dude ill have a search for his thread
  7. I have measured a 35 and it won't fit unfortunately, my engine bay is the same size as a polo, so when I start running cooler pipework ect.. It is going to get busy, I canfree up ssome space on the passenger side by relocating battery/screen wash ect.. and mount a chargecooler there, a td05 would fit nicely I think, ill take some measurements and check
  8. Hi guys, I have a build thread up for my ibiza vr6, im strongly considering turboing it but I am very limited for space with the size of the bay, so I'm after some advice on what the smallest turbo a vr6 can run on is ? I'm not after crazy power (280-300), and I'm going to do the necessary upgrades such as the arp head and rod bolts, spacer plate ect.. and also is it possible to run a maf less system on standard management (with a remap) ? As I have a plan for mounting the turbo but I think it wpuld be tight for space woth a maf. Any help greatly appreciated, Cole.
  9. Thanks lads, glad everyone seems to like it !, got the maf sensor yesterday from Vince12v and it works a treat, now I just need a friendly tester who can overlook the emissions, considered factory colours but I like a bit if being for when the bonnet is open lol, and yep I will definitely be taking her touring the country in show season !
  10. Thanks mate, should have my MAF sensor today so get it wired in tonight and off for its mot on Saturday, I've been thinking that myself lukey, but would need to change the stitching in the seats as they also have GTi16v on them, but it's definitely part of the plan
  11. Thanks mate, yeah there a dieing breed, especially up here in Scotland, not very many of them left !, it was nippy as a 16v but it was always destined for bigger things, the wheels were actually part of a job lot including the engine conversion I picked the while lot up for 430 quid!, a bargain in anyone's book!, it definitely won't be a trailer queen, and as for cheque book bit, I don't trust anyone else to work on my car so not a hope wpuld I pay someone to do it haha!, got a few more things in the pipeline for this, once it has been tested the nitrous system is getting fitted and I am star
  12. Kept the wiring tidy by running in flexible conduit as opposed to ugly tape, and taking inspiration from one of.my favourite films I added some colour to the bay, there is a few little touches missing but can anyone guess the film ? This is how she sits now with the engine in running and almost ready for its mot, I just need a maf sensor and it's good to go!, hope you all like it, my first ever engine conversion so I'd like to hear all opinions good and bad Cole
  13. The tired old fans and radiator were never going to do so I used a spare golf rad I had kicking about and fitted up a pair of 12 inch slimline fans
  14. Now even though it doesn't look like it the motor ran in the last picture but it wasn't right it had a constant misfire even though i had replaced all the plugs/leads/Coil ect.. anyway, I eventually got to the bottom of it, turned out to be a broken pulse wire for injector number 4, once I traced the fault and got the engine running pretty sweet I decided it was time to tidy up the lump and bay a bit
