  1. i know someone that has driven there standard VR obviously on a track and absolutly nailed the shit out of it right up to the rev limiter in 5th and she was reading just under the 145mph which would coinside with the book speed of 140 (or is it 137mph??) that was with 3 big geezers in the car also. i would be amazed if a VR in standard form could do more than 150mph .
  2. That is fcukin brilliant. Can you imagine if it actually was him, and the fact that it was so funny and ironic was all part of his plan and hes got away with it and contiues to rape and murder people knowing that he'll never be caught because noone would ever suspect a newsreader !!! Or maybe i've just been watchin too much touch of frost !!!
  3. Whilst the head is off you may aswell do the chains and tensioners, maybe look at getting a mk4 VR6 head gasket which will give you a little more power and is metal. Brace yourself for the bill tho mate !!!
  4. Very nice mate! They look like porsche cup wheels.
  5. funny the web site where it was postied people where commenting on how much the bumper looks cool on the nova *-) Do you think tha there is a possibility that the people that think that the nova is cool are related in someway to the UK birds on the swedish nightclub thread. With comments like that i think that its highly likely !!
  6. actually i just took another look and the whole car is siht
  7. that novas front bumper is horrible!!!
  8. yeah good luck mate, i've been trying to get a milltek for the last 3 weeks, looks like all the shop order from milltek when you place the order with them, i think that milltek are out of stock until november 10th.
  9. If you look on 'you tube' there is a slide show of the same pictures, i felt obliged to apologise to people not from the UK and let them know that we do actually have fit girls here. These sorts of 'things' are an embarrasment to our nation. Craggsy can you imagine waking up with one of those 'things' next to you !!!!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
  10. Are there any issues with valve clearence with as obviously the head will be closer to the block. What power gains does doing this give ??
  11. i think that you will definately miss the VR Let me know how you get on with the 1.8t, i'd be interested to know what the difference in drive is like.

  15. The tensioner is a piece of piss to change!! 1- Remove the air box 2- On the tensioner you will notice a threaded hole that looks like its got a bolt missing, when you buy the new tensioner from VW it should have the long 10mm bolt with it, use this bolt to slacken the tensioner. 3- Before the Auxillary belt is really slack and comes off all the other pulleys put a bungy cord from the belt and clip it to the underneath of your bonnet, this will keep the Auxillary belt in place and tight whilst you have the tensioner off. 4- Now completely slacken the tensioner by tightening the 10mm bolt up
  16. What a prick ! Another golf abused, i find images like that as upsetting to look at as that RSPCA ad with the poor bear. God there are some really sick people about.
  17. That is awesome !! Did he let you have a drive ?? I was driving into norwich a few months ago having an argument with my girlfriend of the time and all of a sudden a silver one of those appeared beside me so i thought i'm gonna have to have a go(for a laugh obviously), dropped the VR into 3rd and guess what!! yeah youre guessed right the geezer left me standing, those lambos sound like nothing i've ever heard bofore especially whenn they are being thacked. Also shut the wench up aswell Dave
  18. Hey Pete, How much did it cost you? and what did you have done? and where did you have it done? just out of interest. It might be worth having a sticky thread with reference to engine rebuilds and a guide to how much it should roughly cost as the VR's are getting on a bit now and i think this would be useful. Cheers Dave
  19. tsr performance do replacement engines on a exchange basis i think that it costs around 2500 for a vr6 fitted, they do have a web page but i can never get it to load up. I would personally just find a good company to rebuild yours, probably do it for half the cost.
