  1. I'm loving that engine bay, what sort of prices are we looking at mate?? Its quite handy actually as I'm not far from you in Norwich. What is the turn around like for say a inlet manifold.?? Is the one in the picture chromed ? thanks Dave
  2. Just found somewhere that does chroming/electroplating and polishing. http://www.rschrome.co.uk/products.html
  3. i honestly question some peoples mentality, it is an abomination.
  4. Have any of you had parts chromed/electroplated??? I was thinking of getting some bits done such as inlet manifold and maybe brake calipers, and then i'll probably get addicted and have chrome everything under the bonnet, does anyone know a good place from experience and what sort of prices are we looking at ?? Cheers Dave
  5. has anyone had theres electroplated or chromed?? I'm considering getting mine done along with some other bits just wondered wheres a good place to get this done ??? Dave
  6. Thanks Cav, i think that i'm gonna be buying myself one of those very soon, i'm really interested in detailing i've just never used a proper machine all i've had is a cheap polisher and used t-cut then a glaze, to be fair i got good results however i think the time has come to invest in some more kit, i joined detailing world and i have to say there is a wealth of knowledge on there. I'll post some pics after i get the machine. Dave
  7. You've done a great job with that mate, i'm really into detailing aswel, i currently do most things by hand or using a cheap polishing machine, however i'm gonna invest in a decent machine set with all the pads ect... could you recommend a good one to get?? and where to get it, i 've been looking at alot on the net but they all seem to be in the US.
  8. I second that, mine was stalling all the time with no obvious probs, took it to VW where they cleaned the throttle body and it then ran like a dream. The guy said that it was a really common thing with VR's.
  9. Mate i just thought i'd let you know that you will seriously be ruining your bonnet if you put that on there, i think you'll find its really the sort of thing that would go on a vintage beetle not a VR6, its up to you but i would feel guity if i didn't let you know that it sucks.
  10. Those tensioners really are bullshit.
  11. I think that his words have been twisted, what he actually said was that in America people like Jades mum are refered to as 'white trash'on shows like Jerry Springer. It was an observation not a statement. Just for the record i'm white, and i don't condone racism.
  12. I'm a guitarist so i listen to alot of instrumental guitar music, i'm a massive Steve Vai fan but also like, Joe Satriani, john petrucci, Paul Gilbert. I like bands like Dream Theatre, Racer X, Alterbridge, Creed, Keane, Oasis, Queen, the list could go on forever, I listen to anything that makes me feel good. I keep an open mind.
  13. Please note that this was American and also for MK4 golfs and that there was no mention of Miltek on there, i have always been led to believe that Miltek are the best for MK3 golf.
  14. You'll have to get a wide load sign for the back mate, not to my taste but each to there own mate its good to be different.
  15. i think that 40mm is plenty, a mate of mine had his car dropped 60mm and he could hardly go anywhere. i'm currently 40mm and i've just scraped my splitter in a multi story, gutted.

  17. i've currently got the original bbs wheels refurbed with powder coat so they look immaculate with low ride, i'm very fussy about wheels but i think that they are the only wheels that i would put on my car, i'm gonna start saving i think. You've got good taste mate .
  18. Those wheels are awesome!!!!!, how much did you pay and where did you get them. ??? I think that if i change my wheels those will definatly be my choice !! Also what offset are they ?? Sorry about all the questions Dave
  19. The link has timed out. If its a good price i reakon you should by it and keep it as a project show car. Give you something to do at the weekends, your mk4 looks like it needs nothing doing so you must be bored. Dave
  20. i agree with binliner, i've looked into most tuning options for the VR and i have concluded that supercharging is the best option for cost effective gains, all the other stuff just seems far to much hassle and too expensive for the gains that are to be had. Save up a little and get a supercharger mate. This is exactly what i'm doing:)
