    looking good there big pete the ramair pro is a great induction kit, i also really rate the cone pipercross i got for mine. i too am a poor student (lol at students driving vr6´s an complaining we have no money!), so to economise i made a heat shield which i bolted to where the box was and ran a cold air feed to it! works hella well! kat

    mine´s been like that for a year now, it really needs sorting, but hasn´t got worse fast, it´s just annoying! I´ve been advised that it needs doing but isn´t immediate as it doesn´t slip.

    I had the same problem on my gti mk3 and it needed a new seal on the back light too! my vr is leaky too first thing I did was check the drains are clear and get a friend to jet wash around the doors to see if there is any leakage from the membranes (make sure your bud knows how to safely operate a jet wash so they don´t obliterate your paint work!)     well done dude, really respect you for putting in all that effort! i started mine with some wet and dry and peek polish but after 5 hours i'm less than half way there, seeing yours makes me want to finish mine off.... definately !lol Katie

    I got a piece of scrap ally from a mate and drilled two holes in it that line up with the air box mountings, colour coded the metal then bolted it on. Then got a piece of vaccuum hose (actually from a vaccuum cleaner - I'm a cheap skate!) and Bob's your aunty I've got a nice cool cone air filter (took me all day, but looks cool!). Katie

    I've checked the fueling side of things and cleaned the hall sensor as well as tried leaving the ignition on for a few secs before turning it over, and it's not the chip in the dash or key fob immobilising it (because this would allow it to start and die), so I'm guessing it will either be the hall sensor or the ignition switch. So when I get back I'm going to try the ignition switch first as apparently a fault code is not thrown up when this is faulty. Will have to wait till sept though (when I get my car back!!)

    Will do RIX, cheers for that! My VR is now in storage till I get back from Germany in September! I'll pick up the switch while I'm in Germany along with a few other bits! When I get back I'm getting the ignition switch changed, some head work done (i spy some oil seepage!), the bottom end checked out, timing chains, tensioners and guide rails changed (a rattle has just started! 87k!) and while the lump's out I'll give the beast a new clutch!! That's what student loans are for!! !lol Katie
