  1. Congrats m8! I've always used the Autoglym stuff for the leather. Good 'ol Mer for the body after a bit of Autoglym Shampoo. Works for me. Be interesting to see what everyone else uses though.
  2. Only problem I had on my Clifford, not on the VR, is that in certain areas, especially those heavily loaded with antennas, the alarm wouldn't respond. Thought Clifford went under anyway. Toad is a good alarm but it's a bit quiet for my liking. Cliffords are LOUD, just like it should be.
  3. Would you recomend them over SSK + Eibach ARB's? Would work out roughly the same monies. [ Edited Tue Jan 11 2005, 11:53AM ]
  4. Fcuk that is hurting me real bad right now. M8 at least u can now concentrate on the new beast on the block.
  5. I agree with Mr Ben. U get some good deals on 17cm Component sets. Look on www.caraudiosecurity.com for example.
  6. Lovely m8. Clean engine bay too. All you need are the rears and panels leathered up now.
  7. Woohoo! Nice one m8! Congratulations, thought of any names yet? Wish you, the Missus and Junior all the best and a quick return home. !amazed
  8. Ben, can i ask what size wheels/tyres and suspension setup you're using m8? That's the sort of drop i'm after for mine.
  9. You'll more than likely need the wings sprayed, especially being such a light colour, plus the all the corner mouldings. Having mine taken off, in silver and there were markings of where the plastic arch covers once were. Think yours loox really nice as it is m8. A lot of needless hassle 4 u IMHO.
  10. SSK is what i was thinking, anyone know offhand how much they drop by? Now i either go for the FK Konisports, or the SSK's + Eibach ARB's. I have a budget, so the coilovers + ARB's are out of the question. Could really use this advice guys, thanx.
  11. What I don't get, is if it is the rack needs replacing, then howcome it was temporaraly sorted by the lads who did my tracking? Gonna find out soon enough what it is. Cheers for the response guys.
  12. Got any side pics of the car. Looking to get suspension for mine, just to get an idea of the 30mm drop.
  13. Got the slackness in the steering, makes the car unsteady. Steering wheel spokes are not dead straight, can't remember which way the turn to, think it's to the right.
  14. Cheers guys. JBS you raise a good point there m8, it's not 5 minute job to adjust all struts. Thought of coilovers cos the crap roads where i live, thought the adjustability would come in handy. But like you say, not entering any show or trackdays with it so why bother. What Kit would you all sujest i buy. Thinking of 17's for the summer months, with the 15's for winter. What gives the best handling/ride combo in everyones experience? Cheers once again.
  15. Gonna jump in the deep end now the cars in for repairs. Thinking about some FK Konisports or Koni Coilovers for it. Thing is, is it really necessary to fit anti roll bar kit, say like Eibach kit for example? What do u guys n gals think? What coilovers do you lot run? Have you got anti roll bar kits too? Thanx in advance.
  16. Cheers Pete, omg thats pricey. Need to have it checked out anyway, hopefully it could just be top bearing. Had the steering working correctly after having the tracking/alignment done last Feb only for it to go pear shaped again. Fingers crossed. Them quick racks expensive? More to the point, are they worth it? Keep my fingers crossed for now.
  17. Mines been like that for over a year now, sure it helped in the loss of control of the car. Any idea on how much a steering rack costs from VW?
  18. Just bought the whole lot of parts to replace the timing chains. Glad i did now. OBD1 though, with rattly chain. A how-to guide would be brilliant m8.
  19. Cheers badboy. Think i'm being over emotional at the mo, cos i haven't driven it for over a month, and me old mans 15 year old Pug isn't a real substitute. Will try what you suggest as soon as i get it back. Thanx m8.
  20. I'm after a set of Fox Racing RS5's for mine in the near future, would prefer TT rims though. They're advertised on the back of Performance VW Mag. I'm abroad, so don't care about common wheels myself.
  21. Wish u and the missus all the best m8. Post some picks of our newest VR6oc member.
