  1. Hope the insurance does him over. Very gutted to hear that m8. Still, every cloud has a silver lining m8, i firmly believe that.
  2. Bought mine from Volkspares down what was my neck of the woods. 40 quid all in, they're crap, but they have lasted about 6k b4 starting to give up. So not too bad of a quick patch up. Will see what VW have to say.
  3. Okay, this is driving me mad. Now I think according to the most experienced among us,the red leads are the best ones to for. But are they made by BERU, or BREMI. Most VR's i've seen had black leads. Managed to get part numbers from the Beru site, but can't seem to find any info on Bremi. Anyone able to clear this up? Hope evryone had a good Christmas by the way.
  4. Oh dear m8, that ain´t good at all. Make sure she doesn't put the blame on you. Had a woman pull out on me in my first car, took aes to win the case. Hope you get it sorted soon. Merry Christmas!
  5. Hi m8! Just checking BERU's website and i've got 2 possible part numbers, but they don't say which one is red. Check these with your pal and see how it goes. Ignition cable sets - Code designation - Order number ZEF 298 0 300 890 708 ZEF1260 0 300 891 260 I hear these are the original OE leads, but then again i've read Bremi are the OE leads. Thats all can do for you now Slim. Hope they match.
  6. That's the kinda crap I get to see all the time here! Drugs affect people in all sorts of ways...man!
  7. Cheers Mick. Thing is I bought the car with problem already in hand. It was in such good nick for the money i handed over that i was willing to forgive. Looking foward to seeing how it performs after the chain and leads renewal. I know that nothing exciting really happens until approaching 4000rpm on these cars, but any improvement would a bonus. Good luck on sorting yours out m8.
  8. Mmmmmmm! Nice, and very pricey. Are they in pro´s Jus?
  9. Apart from the obvious risk of seriously mullering your engine, could one of the simptoms of a loosened or worn chain be poor performance. I'm not very impressed with the cars pick up, it really seems to struggle uphill. Had a chipped E30 325 beemer a couple of years ago that felt alot quicker. Not really a fan of winding up the revs to compensate crap low end pick up. Sorry, i know Everyone must be fedup with this thread, but could be useful. Cheers.

    Drunk

At the checkout of the local ASDA´s, a drunk stands in the qeue watching the lady in front of him. As she places her items on the belt, the drunk verbally lists each and every one of them. Pint of Semi Skimmed Milk, Some Cherry Tomatoes, Large Bar of Galaxy, 1 Ready made meal, Lettuce, Tub of Mayo... The lady turns around and smiles at the man, but seeing that he was just pissed, decided not to comment and continues with her purchase. "I take it you´re single my dear" says the drunk. "Excuse me?" She asks. "Oh, please don´t be offended, I have a talent for these things... am I right or am rig
  11. Posible group buy? Or is that a bit of a lib on your m8? Watcha rekkon?
  12. There´s me getting all excited 'n all!
  13. I actually wanted a set of all reds for my Silver VR, and now that i´m colour coding it, wish i did! Ordered M3 crystals instead.
  14. I actually ordered mine at Gwent VW along with some other goodies. They're aren't very quick at getting in touch back, that's true. Last they told me is that they're waiting for an incoming shipment of FK stuff sometime this week. I getting this stuff sent over to Spain so I guess i'll be waiting a while. Give 'em a call and ask them whats happening with your request, they're pretty nice people to deal with. I think the Christmas rush got them by surprise, well that's what they told me. Yeah, the website leaves a bit to be desired, but they do Golf3/Ventos too. Will be interesting to see how y
  15. 2 bar debadged definately. Mine should be arriving soon.
  16. I think the red LED´s not the completely clear ones look pretty tidy. Depends on what else you´ve done on the car, and the colour too. Just an opinion mind. But they are pretty expensive though.
  17. Would have thought its either of them. When you next start it up in the morning, look under the hood. The moisture in the air should give you a small light show if its the lead ends or coilpack. Just check for sparks on all the lead ends and coilpack. If u can´t see anything then it will be your plugs. Oh, and welcome to site m8, hope this info helps you.
  18. Is that including the guides and tensioner acf, valver seems to think not. I´m confused (even at the best of times). Cheers for the info.
  19. Does anyone think it could be a safe bet in getting these timing chain components from GSF. Had a look on their site but their product codes are different to the ones given earlier by Pete, yet they claim to be the genuine article. Any advice?
  20. Thats true, though my thoughts go out to binliner guys, cos that was one of my favourite cars on here as well a seeming like a real top bloke.
