  1. The driver's side window switch in my VR is dead as a dodo, but the passenger side window works fine from both the passenger side switch and the one on the driver's side. It can't be the fuse if one side is working, can it? Or am I wrong? Help!
  2. Design 2 is the coolest, but there's no VW logo. It would be a bit elitist to have keyrings without even the car maker's name on them. Design 1 definitely looks the most old fashioned and I like that, but we aren't about Beetles and split screens, we're about the VR6. In addition, I don't agree that we need the web address on the keyring. I don't really see the point of it. A horizontal VW logo underneath the present text would rock.
  3. Cheers Slim. Might just do that. Once I've got some cash after whopping £320 on a new set of tyres. Just lovely though – drove to my sister's house in the middle of the Lake District and back over the weekend and the grip was mad, despite the pishing rain and insane roads on the banks of some of the lakes.
  4. Hey I've had my VR for about 2 months now and it's high time I had it serviced. Can anybody recommend a good garage for this in Glasgow or the west of Scotland in general? I have heard the Paisley VW lot are pretty good and that is where the previous owner had it looked at for the duration of his ownership of the car. Thanks for any help you can offer
  5. I spoke too soon ? haven't had the chance to take the VR out since Sunday (working like mad) and now I have the flu. God is a moody bastard.
  6. So I'm into my second day of VR6 ownership. So much for the most depressing day of the year. On top of that, I was successful in bidding for a flat today. How much do you want to punch my face in?!
  7. Just about to buy my first VR6 and I frequently read on this site about Shricks. Call me a complete birdbrain, but what is this seemingly crucial addition to the VR6?
  8. You folks aren't doing much to encourage my impending VR6 purchase!! A friend is selling his 95M 3-dr for about £2.5k: FSH, 120k, leather interior et al. Took it for a pootle yesterday afternoon and almost filled my trousers. Was expecting a slightly stiffer ride but after 2 years driving a Mk3 8V GTi my bones could probably do with a rest.
  9. Mr Ben ? if your Mk3 GTi was six on a scale of one to 10, what would you say the VR6 is?
  10. Cheers for that. It's a tasty mileage if the SH is there to back it up, isn't it? When I bought the GTi I had to replace the exhaust and rear calipers straight away and then proceeded to splash £4000 over the past two years just to get it up to scratch. So you can see why I am being so careful!
  11. I've had a mk3 8v Golf GTi for a couple of years and am on the verge of selling it and replacing it with either a Corrado VR6 or a Golf VR6. In Autotrader (Scottish edition) this week the following car is advertised and I would much appreciate any thoughts from VR6 owners as to whether it is a good deal or not. If you have time, ideas as to what to look out for would be appreciated too. OK, the car ... "VW Golf VR6 2.8 M-reg, genuine 65,000 miles. MOT March, tax Jan. Cat 1 total closure alarm, CD player, e/w, e/m, e/sr, twin airbags, original BBS alloys, in superb condition throughout. £2595"
