  2. OK one last go. http://img.villagephotos.com/2004-12/911764 Apologies, it´s my first time.
  3. Sorry, having a bit trouble with this. http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?folder id=114437
  4. Maybe not then. Lets try: http://www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?folder_id=114437
  5. I hope this works. This is what my clean and tidy VR looks like after a bit of slippery antics on black ice. Not happy! www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?folder id=114437 &| :@
  6. Bit far for me acf, but cheers for the advice. Loox like it´s VW dealer time.
  7. I´ll second that acf, bit of a dog.
  8. Oh s!#t! Not very good news. Might have an exorcism done on it b4 anything else goes wrong. Thanx 4 the info Pete. Could I trust any good mechanic with that do you think? VW charge a fortune.
  9. Can anyone give a ruff estimate as to how big a job it is to replace them. How lomg do you reckon it would take a skilled spanner to it for instance.
  10. Very gutted indeed. I know how you feel m8, will post pictures of mine 2mrw and we can weep together. Hope u and all involved are good. Nelson &|
  11. I would really love to, but between having to pay the damages on the car, and getting that dreaded timing chain sorted i have no reddies left. Not working either as i´m in the middle of opening up a business, so money´s real tight. Might sell my soul at Christmas, any takers?
  12. Lads! I think my cat maybe on it´s way out so was thinking of getting the de-cat link pipe for my supersprint. Been checking out some the comments and not sure whether it´s a good idea or not. MOT not a problem, but it´s the sacrificing torque over top end power that I´m more concerned about. Whats eveyones opinion.
  13. I take it they´re the ones to go for then. Once i have the reddies might take butchers at one.
  14. I get that all the time too nickg123. Especially since í have british plates. They see a young bloke in a fast car and they immediately think that i´m out to prove something. Must admit though, it really winds me up and I bite easily. Sometimes laeving them behind, somtimes just letting them past when it gets a bit stupid. Wish I was more like you, could save myself alot of petrol. He!
  15. Ok here goes. When i had my Supersprint fitted by the nice blokes at C&R i wanted to add a KN cone filter/induction kit, but was advised against it. They claimed loss of power and recomended a KN replacement panel filter, which I bought. Now I´ve been reading about BMC induction that some of you are running, are they worth the money. SWG got a new induction kit which stretches right down behind the bumper, any views? Original red leads vs blue ignitors, whatcha think?

  17. I would have thought you could use your original gear knob, could be very wrong here, but isn´t that short shift thing just a longer strip of metal which is hidden under the leather gaiter cover?
  18. I second that! Sorry to bring this up in this thread but, six appeal, have you had your arches rolled, thats the kinda look i´m eventually after. Nice Car!
  19. Nick you´re a star. Thats exactly what i´m getting. Cant believe i´ve been deriving around with that going on, and VW mechanic telling me it´s nothing to worry about. Cheers m8. Julesz m8! Check out that link, is that what you´re getting?
  20. Oh, took the car out earlier, and after warming up the engine, i gave her quick blast for a few minutes, kept the revs reasonably high and when got back, that smell came in again, only this time i noticed it had a little eggy hot catalyst smell mixed in as well, it stank my interior up no end, cat is pretty new,so would have thought it would have any probs. Anu clues?
  21. Think we´d better get our cars down to the spanners before anything gives up. 45k should be a minter, especially mechanically, hope it´s nothing serious m8. Sorry, typed enter by mistake in that last msg.
  22. Got a nice Supersprint on mine. Sounds fantastic. Originally had one silencer, but it was far too loud, put the second silencer on later and it is just music to my ears. Got a very good fit on them too, but if you go for one make sure it doesn´t poke out the rear at an inward angle. Not sure about performance gains, but i remember being impressed with the difference it made to the car. Beautiful motor by the way.
