  1. Okay, now i'm really wondering weather i should keep the car or not. There have never been many VR6's where i'm living, and so no one understands them. When i've gone to recomended spanners to have my chains replaced, all i got was, " VR's don't use timing chains" or " timing chains don't ever need to be replaced" Thank the almighty for VR6OC who know different. To cut a long story short, i've done 7k with a mullered chain link, constantly being told that there's nothing wrong with the engine. Just had them replaced at VW dealer who, along with a service and a little tie rod work have just chr
  2. Would have thought they'd be H7's, no?
  3. FK do the same style as Angel Eyes called Power Look. Cheaper too. Check out www.fkautomotive.de Don't worry there's an english section. Think they're the nicest available personally.
  4. Just to let u know Ben. VW rang earlier to say my alternator belt was on it's way out too, could the reason for the noise in mine. Need to drive to be sure though. Will keep u posted.
  5. Make sure u take an extra suitcase or buy one, take loads of spending monies and shop till you drop!!! u'll love it m8. Shame most of the peeps are a bit mizzy though. Have a goodun.
  6. HAPPY BDAY M8! HOPE U HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY! Your almost an exact month older than me, lol
  7. Hi everyone! Has anybody heard any stories about these shocks for the VR? A m8 is highly recomending them to me as an alternative to Koni. He has them on his Citroen ZX 16V and they have proved faultless in the last 7 years. A few people run Selex on their cars around here, but was looking for a second opinion. Intending to use ebach springs, if thats any help. Cheers Nel
  8. I get that too, especially if the car has been sitting for a good while. It does it when accelerating. Does it sound like a low pitch whistle Ben? Having the chains done on Tuesday, will get them to look out for it. Will keep u posted.
  9. I think the Porsche colour is a better bet m8, seen the CSL (in grey) up close and i think it's just dull for a beast such as that, or a beast such as yours. Just an opinion m8. [ Edited Tue Feb 22 2005, 10:53PM ]
  10. Black on Black will look alot better than the Chrome or the cheesy Blue ones. I think they'll look the bollox on a black Golf, could be a biased opinion as i've got them myself, not sure they're so easy to find in RHD though. And i personally think they're the best looking ones out there IMOH, MK4 look ones i find a bit too fussy with the indicator bulbs in between headlamps, but each to their own. 11. Very nice m8, wheels look a right treat on there.
  12. Yeah u should be able to do it. Are they FK's?, if so you'll need H7 bulbs, 4 of the fuckers, and i think most HID conversions use H7 type bulbs.
  13. Loving mine in Silver at present, what bodywork mods you got Toby? I mean, are you going for a completely smoothed look? If so, a lighter colour will always do those details justice IMHO and that Porsche Seal grey is lovely, seen it on a Corrado in PVW couple issues back. Interior colour and even your wheels can influence your choice.
  14. Congrats m8! Bet your celebrating well tonight.
  15. Cookies or Justin, do those TT comps clear the calipers on your cars. Other words, were they a straight swap. Cheers, Nel.
  16. Cheers guys, but this alarm doesn't seem to have valet mode, have read the manual but that's just useless. It arms and disarms remotely, but doesn't open/close doors or windows as normal and doesn't flash it's hazzards when it chirps anymore. Wish it were a Clifford, know my way round those.
  17. big up the silver vr massive...lol cheers Shail, it was actually your car which inspired me to have it colour coded m8, nice one.
  18. Hi everyone, got a bit of an unusual one here. I finally got my baby back from the bodyshop this week, she's looking damn fine but my alarm has gone a bit funny. Whilst the car was in for repairs the battery died, charged up and then died again. Now the alarm won't shut or open the central locking, or flash the indicators when turned on/off. The alarm still works bar this deafect. It's a Toad AI 606 and it's just over a year old. Does anyone have any suggestions? I had Angel eyes and Crystal fogs put on the car so wondering whether the boys have buggered me wiring, any help greatly appreciate
  19. Like those PG QX series alot, running 2 myself with a JL Audio 12, shake the car a treat with the right CD on. Justins idea is cool and if done properly, can sound amazing, bloke i knew did the same to 2 MK4's and i always remember how blown away i was by the sound. Get JL next m8, u won't be dissapointed IMHO.
