Booked my car in at The Phirm as its had a misfire for ages that had been looked at by a couple of people & they couldnt cure it (arrived 2 hours late after the sat nav took me to a different Hyde Lane in Farnham) lifted the bonnet & Tim had diagnosed the misfire it in about 2 mins - loose plugs - all 6 of them! !shy Something so simple that you would have thought all mechanics would have checked them 1st?! Once that was sorted Tim ran the diagnostics on the car & went over the whole engine & identified a few other things that needed doing such as the oil breather, split in th

I dont think anyone should be bad mouthing Ultimate Tune unless they've had 1st had experience of dealing with them - thats like me saying stealth etc are rubbish & that they provide a rubbish service when I've never used them myself & only going on what I've heard - seems to me that Rob has really tried to help people out on here and as soon as theres a little hint of a problem everyone jumps on the bad wagon! It takes a long time to build a good reputation in any business but not long at all to ruin it by people spreading chinese whispers.

If you do need to replace the pump & ECU you'll need someone to do it that has VAG com otherwise you'll have loads of problems trying to set it up etc - had the same grief when I changed mine. I think that the part numbers have to match exactly aswell - I dont think you can just fit one thats from the same year etc as you'll get probs (this is what my mechanic said) After a couple of months I managed to get a good 2nd hand pump & ECU for

You'll get the most out of a VR6 on long runs to be honest - it was intended as an autobahn cruiser. If your gonna be doing a lot of city driving you'll pouring the petrol into it all day long!
