  1. Could be a faulty HT lead? Loose plug/s? You can get a compression test done to rule out the head gasket and work from there
  2. ha ha nope! I havent really been driving it - its down at the phirm at the moment have poly bushes fitted, strut brace & new water pump! It will be done soon though
  3. But more of a pain in the backside to look after! It sits quite low and you have to be really careful with speedhumps and kerbs - it sits lower at each side and has no give in to so if you hit something thats it - it'll need repainting again :@ Gotta get mine painted still since I hit a speed hump and put a nice crack in it !lol
  4. I like the Cult Society mirrors they look cool - nice n subtle
  5. You said u wasnt going to bring that tutu after last time... !lol
  6. Well Im up for holding hands if anyone else is
  7. Talking crap - I've got aircon and they werent modded at all & are fitted with no mods. The back of the vent sits about 0.75" away from the air-con part. I would just buy them.
  8. Ah yeah! If I'd looked properly at your pics in the 1st place I could have seen they were splits! Cheers for the info, I might invest in a set of those :0)
  9. A week! Hardcore! I'd be surprised if you have cars to drive home if your planning to go on the track everyday for a week even if you dont go off the track! Its good just hanging about in the car park but if Im there with my car I cant resist doing a few laps
  10. They are the BBS RX wheels :0) RX2's are the splits. I use P21s on mine & the meguiars wax on my RX2's to keep the rims in top nick. Both work wonders on my paint but I'd say that the P21S is better on my paint & is a carnuba wax. Jahre GTI - what spacers are you running as thats what I want to do to mine, they sit too far in for my liking! What offset are your BBS? My wheels are ET35.
  11. Syncro - you shouldnt have relied on people here in the UK to get your money back for you - its hard enough for people to get their own money back without the hassle of yours, you should think yourself lucky you got your money back at all! Theres a saying that goes 'If you want a job doing properly, do it yourself' You said you was going to come over with some friends so why didnt you so that instead of thanking everyone here for nothing? Lets hope the others get their money back soon like you have.
  12. Heres mine - probably not the best pics for you but imagine these in black & not blended in to the bumper & your there They do sit flush in the bumper as standard tho as seen at the bottom before I had the work done
  13. I have the Bonrath ones & they fit spot on - a nice snug fit. FK stuff always seems to be feel a bit cheap for some reason although their shocks are good - things like headlights and air intakes are usually a bit shoddy.
  14. I bought the P21 kit - Really bought the paint up well! My paints not in the best condition but it made a lot of difference & was really glossy after
  15. Nice one cheers Rich! It is a 5 speed 1.6 - I reckoned about £1000 but then theres the vat & labour! Its in a VW garage somewhere in France now being worked on & he's been given a Renault Scenic courtesy car by the RAC. I think its done just over 40k (its a company car) so he should be cool. Thanks for that.
  16. Mate of mine is driving through Europe and his dif has gone on his 1.6 Bora (2004) Its being towed to a VW garage in France to be fixed but does anyone know the cost of a new one? He cant speak a word of French and is somewhere remote apparently! I've called my local VW dealer but they wanted a load of details from the car that I dont know so Im just after a rough price to let him know how much its gonna be costing him Ta!
  17. You can just remove completely - My cars been running without it for over a year now with no probs. A lot of people remove them to allow u to run a cold air feed - best off doing a search on the forums for a guide on how to remove it. Easy job, no longer than 30 mins!

    next car ?

E46 M3 or Mk4 R32 Golf for me - its gonna be a few years yet though before I sell up!
  19. Hey Han its not that good either is it?? most of the people who own those calibras now originally come from around Faluja or Baghdad! tending to have "2 fast 2 furious" stickers in the back windows!! !amazed (well at least where i live ) Ha ha funny you should say that Nick cos thats the route mine has taken! Saw it about 6 months after I sold it and it looked terrible - if its not on barry boys I'd be surprised!
  20. I had a calibra before my VR6 & it was built pretty well! I got p*ssed off with people taking the p*ss cos it was a Vauxhall though! If you could find a good clean, unthrashed turbo you should be fine but as with the Calibra Turbo which was a Cavalier Turbo with a different shell etc theres always the same things that people recommend you check (ie: on the VR people say check the chains etc) You have to watch out for the transfer boxes etc and when you change a tyre - you have to change all 4 as thats what causes the transfer box damage. Not sure of too many other probs with them but I
  21. Probably worth making a complaint - friend of mine who has a Ferrari complained after the company that they contract work out to put the car on the back of the trailer but scraped the front splitter doing it - they paid to have the front bumper and splitter painted no questions asked.
  22. I think the Vento ones that some people buy off ebay are the ones that cause you to have a gap in the middle - all you need to ask for at VW is a splitter for an N/96 Golf VR6. Might cost a bit more from VW but it'll be worth it for the quality, apparently they do take some stick and wont crack or break.
