  1. Theres a webiste that allows you to upload pics of your car and the people that produce the tv progams use it to borrow peoples cars for the day so your car will be used a kind of TV extra! I cant remember the name of the site though...
  2. get a compression test done to make sure the headgasket is ok - if you do short journeys you will see a bit of mayo but 30 mins should be ok but if the cold weather probably doesnt help - most VR's are a bit sluggish under 3.5k rpm especiallty if you have a inducition kit fitted as it'll just be taking in heat and soak up the power
  3. You might have a loose hose or the coolant could be coming out of the headgasket and running down the the side of the block - when a headgasket goes, the water doesnt always mix with the oil. Best bet is to get it up on a ramp and see if theres any signs of where the water could be leaking from & also do a compression test - that way you can tell if its your headgasket or not
  4. I can only dream of achieving such figures!
  5. Im gonna be changing the oil & plugs etc at the weekend - whats the best ones to use? I'm running Bosch Super 4's at the moment - not had any probs so same again? 8)
  6. Thats what mine does Silverline but it has worked twice so I'd say yours should be working aswell but isnt
  7. Can anyone tell me where abouts the outside air temp sensor is? Are these known for packing up at all? Mines worked twice in the year that I've had the car so Im hoping its just a bad connecttion etc If I need a new one how much are they roughly? Cheers!
  8. You have to do a few laps of the ring its one of the best things I've ever done! I love the place - been 3 times this year & even if you dont fancy taking your car on the track theres loads of spectator points and lots of mishaps to see when people get things wrong (which they do quite often!) The drive there and back is brilliant to.

    rear style

Im having my rear wiper and stuff removed when I have the car resprayed after xmas - save a bit of weight aswell removing the wiper motor etc - not a lot but it all counts!
  10. Does Autoglass do a windscreen for the Golf with a dark grey/black top tint?
  11. Heres the car: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1476471 and heres the what the owner said: Hi Mark. The mirrows are fitted on Mk3. The left left mirrow is a small japan model for right-drivers and the right ist the small german model. In US are both mirrows bigger. Later Ron
  12. Theres an OEM Mk3.5 Japanese mirror that fits straight on apparently. I found a pic of a car on VW Vortex that had them fitted and emailed the owner to find out what mirrors they were. I havent got the email here at work but if you want it I can forward you a pic and what model of mirror they are 8)
  13. Ha ha! I'll book a container & ship rigt now!
  14. I've found out from a Ferrari mad mate that the tyre thats randomly on the road is a Bridgestone RE050 Scuderia - a one off tyre made for the Enzo - he's a bit of a Ferrari anorak and knows the tread pattern etc & says it a front tyre from the Enzo... ha ha
  15. I saw it on ED38 & joined up - no harm in it!
  16. Not sure if you can still get them - best thing to do would be to speak to RichieVR on here or RichieGTI on ED38 they both work for Vw I think so they will probably be able to find out anout getting 1 for u
  17. They look like an OZ wheel or a Mille Miglia wheel - both had a similar design which I cant remember the name of!
  18. However many there were - theres 1 less now!

    lights

How much are they? What make? LHD or RHD? If they are LHD units they wont be as good as RHD units at night time as the beams point in the wrong direction. I had some LHD FK Powerlook lights before my new set and while they were Ok its nice to have lights that light up the road as they should, handy for lighting up road side signs etc
  21. The Corrado 2.9 ones dont fit as they will be OBD1 but you could fit a TB from a Syncro etc as they are OBD2 but the chances of you finding one are pretty slim - keep an eye on german ebay you might find one pop up on there along with a 2.9 inlet manifold ;0)
  22. Thanks for the comments! Im winding it down a bit next weekend & I've got a pair of spacers coming so I can fill the rear arches a little bit more cos I think the rear wheels look a little bit lost & I cant afford new ones at the mo! :0) Simon - headlights have misted up a tiny bit ha ha - need to seal them more at the bottom.
