vr6turbo got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in Bodywork recommendations
Just had my highline welded up at wvs welding in Normanton it was as rotten as a pear.
Tony went above and beyond replacing 2 floor pans inner and outer sills and
repairing the chassis legs and a lot of other bits that needed attention
he did a first class job, the price was about what I expected to pay for 70 hrs work plus materials.
I was quoted £4000 by rust box restorations and ended up paying less than half that.
I would not hesitate to recommend his work.

vr6turbo reacted to blackwookie in Valve springs
Start was a fail. Knock didnt go away at all. It actually got very worse. Ended up getting a motor from a part out. Took me 4.5 hours to get the motor stripped down, to get my motor stripped down, and block removed from car. Now im working on cleaning the head and block prepping them both for all my good parts. Will update when i get another chunk done

vr6turbo got a reaction from D11PS in vf engineering supercharger parts
I got a whole kit with a few of parts missing, I have been down the forced induction route before,
and I have to inspect and repair everything, otherwise the weakest link will show.
Been stripping the oil system at work
cleaning the inline filter, and making some spacers up.
The idler and supercharger pulleys are not aligned with the aux belt.
and the ones someone had made that came with the kit are far from ideal.
The injectors are all tested and cleaned, and within 2% of each other, very happy with them.

The ball which stopped for a rest, is rolling again.
My mate at work is going to mill out the manifold this week

I wanted to fit the kit as vf engineering made it,
its a shame they don't sell the parts anymore they are more interested in selling you a v3 charger
I realise I will have to cobble together the intake and boost pipes
and buy a check valve to stop boost pressure blowing the evap canister apart
they did send a fitting guide which is good,
if you want a copy I could send it to you.

vr6turbo got a reaction from VR6Pete in home made vsr schrick manifold
been looking at making my own vsr manifold from a stock one.
I work with a guy who has years of engine tuning and is a real boffin when it comes to tuning
we have been looking at how exactly the vsr manifold works, mechanically.
has anyone ever stripped the internal flap out of the schrick/vsr manifold for maintenance.
or has any photos of how the flap functions internally.
I have a feeling it splits the plenum chamber in 2 so you have 3 and 3 cylinders on each side when the flap is closed
and the full width when open
can anyone add to the topic even if they see pitfalls I don't
welding is not a problem as the lads at work are wizards with the TIG welder
