  4. just rang him and he now informs me that there is a 100BHP NO2 kit fitted !!! now i do not know what to think
  5. saw this when i woke up, the missus has been after 1 for ages, she shares my vr6 passion and has been patiently driving a mk3 golf 1.8cl for the last 2 years. so what do you guys think positive or negative, mot till april. the plate must be worth a bit http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130027015849&indexURL=7&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting
  6. i will help out any one in and around scarborough
  7. here as well http://www.driveshaftshop.com/vwpage.ivnu
  8. i made 350 at 11.5 psi of boost and even without an lsd ,if the engine is set up right, and you expect torque steer, then its very drivable. An extra 100bhp and you definately will need a heavy duty clutch and an LSD, also your drive shafts would need uprating.the gear box would benifit from a rebuild before fitting.

  12. awesome i hope it all goes well, who will you get to remap
  13. the only way to do it properly would be to have a 10ltr tank in the boot, for the intercooler water, and try to cool the tank using a small cooling unit?
  14. there may be a small amount of adjustment needed to get the cam tool to slot in, literally a mm or 2 i used a dial gauge on number one cylinder, which will give tdc accurate to a 1000th inch, that way there is no mistake, i ahve looked on my crank pulley for a mark, there isnt one the lower cam chain is only important to time up on distributor vr6 engines. As it drives the oil pump and nothing else on a coilpack vr fitting of the chain tensioner is important as well, i usually use about a teaspoon and a half of fresh oil poured into the tensioner then replace the plunger and bleed down with a l
  15. there again Millsy has put a good case against charge coolers i have heard from the escort turbo guys that the people who have fitted the charge cooler generally are out performed on the rollers by the big intercooled cars. They only use tiny tanks though, so the water would heat up pretty fast. chargecooler.co.uk have kits that look interesting. its a dilemma that may result in the flip of a coin
  16. turbo pressure starts to build at 2600 so its relativly early, and i hit full boost pressure at 3800.the turbo i am using is a to4e turbonetics. and works very well. as you said the piping will make a big difference in response, so the set up i want to use for ideas is the Bill Schimmel vr6 turbo,
  17. i wish i could afford one,i have since taken the intecooler off as the front of the car has been refurbed. i wanted to go for a stealth look, and have been researching charge coolers, schimmel have a kit for about a grand, again too much, and i have to relocate my battery. i am undecided as some people claim they work more efficiently than a large intercooler, and create less lag. Due to the shorter distance between the turbo outlet and throttle body. others say they are too restrictive. what do you guys think?
  18. fair enough its a matter of having more money than brains then!! have you seen 1 running? the day the boffins produce one that makes serious boost will be agreat day,
  19. thinking about getting an electric supercharger and fitting it in line on the intercooler piping to try to reduce lag if a micro switch was fitted to activate the elecric supercharger at WOT. may be fit 2, one either side of the intercooler or charge cooler, the other question is would they restrict the turbo air flow when it reaches higher boost. 1st problem would be the amount of current they use 40amps each would sound good though,
  20. as far as the kit is concerned it looks great till you get to the intake manifold, i got one on ebay and had alot of problems getting the injectors to seal properly due to the crap way it was made. its a rough casting i have one sitting in my garage in a box!! the best intake on the market in my opinion is the shimmel it is machined and precise, and fits first time without having to tap or modify it in any way. apart from the isv i had a pipe welded on so i could fit the isv
  21. i have run mine with and without and have noticed no difference at all
  22. i am not happy with the map, he had the car for over 24hrs and it seems the map started at about 60c on the water temperature, as this is the point when the overfuelling stopped, vince said this was due to the blow by created by the forged pistons, I feel like i was palmed off with half a job done, stand alone is the way to go, when running high boost.any one who heard the way my engine ran will tell you it was not right.
  23. 400 bhp is the figure any more and the gearbox wont last too long i have run a vr gearbox for years running 320bhp with no problems a heavy duty clutch would be a benifit helix do a great clutch
