help with my vrt blowing smoke!!!

mine used to blow oil when i overfilled it not by much the turbo drain was backing up and caused it to blow some oil through the turbo seals as soon as i sorted the oil level out it was fine check where the oil drain pipe meets the sump it should be as high as possible so the oil level in the sump isnt restricting the flow from the turbo -

great job you may have trouble with the oil return on the sump mine started blowing oil because the return pipe was backing up so i mounted it as high as i could just a thought :-d -
i ended up coverting mine cause the turbo wore it out and it was cheaper to convert to manual £1200 for an auto rebuild it was fun though

after running my car for many years with an intercooler i got sick of saxos and other cars wanting to race me. i decided to go stealth and fit a charge cooler the problems have been keeping the water cool in the system even though i have a 20 ltr tank in the boot a track day ended in very high engine temperatures where i had to stop every few laps so i have made a custom charge cool radiator up from a cinquicento radiator and 2 x 7inch fans £20 rad £17 each for the fans £15 for silicon hoses £10 for wiring switch and relay plus digital temp sensor £25 so £87 all in i plan to have a d

a few details about getting your shell shot blasted firstly the guy is called Jim not john i had a good chat with him and he has done many many shells his blaster is not suited to doing large panels like the roof as they may warp slightly due to the heat build up caused by friction the same goes for the door outer skins he will do the inside then lift the shell to do the undermeath and all other ares including the engine bay he charges £140per shell

i am looking to have a good airflow over the turbo then down under the car past the core it has not been necessary in the past when i had an intercooler but since using a charge cooler ( stealthmode )the intake temps have been higher than i wanted so i plan to uprate the charge cooler rad with a cinquicento radiator with a fan and switch or temp controller its just a feeler i know from the past general opinion has been against fitting a scoop for the reasons you mentioned the vents will release some heat but will they be as effective as a scoop any pictures of vr6's with vents scoops lets h

i have looked hi and low for a suitable bonnet scoop to keep the underbonnet temperatures down and think it would help when running a turbo but i just cannot find one i think suits the car any ideas and comments

ive all ways fancied doing a 4wd conversion i asked vince for a price about 4 years ago 12000 is what he quoted i talked to C2 matt said he could fabricate a 3 inch system

great info guys i am going to get a custom made exhaust locally the hartman is 750 euros a bit rich for my blood for 380 quid i should get a decent system made up thats about my budget

its question time again is the idle stabiliser valve used on a obd2 or is the idle controlled by the throttle body thanks

yeah maybe its not such a good idea the eibach rear anti roll bars dont help either the back box clearance is tiny plus the car is lowered 40mm jkm look like they do a fine job down in portsmouth custom made sounds best
