  1. that is cool...very cool...wonder how heavy the system is.
  2. i dont think they are chav, but i do think you should get rid of them...clean up the front end, they look like eye lashes rather then eye brows hehehe. nice car tho.
  3. miltek do a nice small backbox which wont hang down like that one, but it has the same acoustic properties... however everyone has their own opinions on backboxes, its a bit hit and miss.
  4. that exhaust is HUUUGE...do you get ground clearance problems (when you have 5 in back?)
  5. cheaper to get power...however a vr is gonna set u back less than 4 grand ....if u spent 5 grand on a standard vr (and that still wouldnt cost as much as mint 1.8T s/h) u could be looking at serious horse annoying power. the cost of buying a vr is sooo dirty cheap....it just STUPID not to have one...just for the 'deal' prefer mk3 shell to mk4 shell..anyone else agree? 6. okay, my vr6 is odb2 1996 N and when i open any window its one touch open, if i close it one touch unless u hold the button down.
  7. lol, i'm sure the manufacturer didnt intend either of the above methods to be used to start the car hehe.
  8. yeah VW did well to fit vr6's with cat1's they are SOOO nickable its unreal.
  9. yeah m8, get some pics up on the members section ....
  10. heh elephant wont insure me with an induction kit!! noooo!!!! oh well, will have to wait until next year to buy one. i'm content with my vr, for the last 3 years ive driven a mk2 1.6 driver... i think i'm the only 22 year old with a vr6 and no points on his/her licence...yet *grin* i think insurance companies are right to charge us the heaven and earth for powerful cars at young ages...means that u can always waste chavs...who don't have the un-chavness to get insured on a vr i would recommend trying all of the insurance companies in the sticky...play em off one another, check ur family if an
  11. m8, 1 thing. You are the one who is going to be driving it, its your car, you are the one who is gonna KNOW that under those plasticy trims are some crap arches ... even if others can't see it, you will be able to see it... get it done properly, save up if you have to...dont go plasticy. its hard i know, after my nextdoor neighbour pranged my car i was thinking i'll just get the bumper smoothed....didnt look right...i just went and got a new bumper fully resprayed...better. 12. mk4 wieghs alot and you rest assured there are another 10 million cars with the same body shell out there that all look the same....although there is a point of it being a 1.8T and hence more economical prolly more reliable than a vr6...wouldnt trade my vr6 for a brandnew 1.8T unless they 4motion'd it (for the same price )
  13. yea i would definately go for a chin spoiler and get the front a bit more lower (without actually lowering anything ).
  14. m8, if i were you, dont settle for plastic second best measures, people take the trim off for a reason....get the paintwork done properly...
  15. i want me be a supercharger monster, feed me your superchargers...! would a bremo brake kit solve the braking issues? or would you go for audo brakes (s4?) or would the carriers need changing. Also do the rear brake gear need changing too, can you mod the rear to take the disc's/calipers?
  16. they are RS4 replica's scotty, diamond cut, i hope u got the VW centre stickers
  17. were ur tyres rubbing that u needed to roll ur arches? sincei have the same alloys as u [ Edited Thu Nov 04 2004, 07:51AM ]
  18. SWVR6 please visit WWW.VWVORTEX.COM and have a look at the DIY for CLEANING YOUR TB...there are two methods of doing it... ideally we should ask vwvortex if we can copy those diy's they are useful! again check its obd2 or odb1, and remember drivers side int he US is passenger side in the UK
  19. bought mine for VW in the end, they dont even fit properly !!!! but they are bulletproof, the splitter took a nasty knock from a pigeon at 70 on a quiet carrage way....i dunno why these frigging birds dont hear a HUGE vr6 power towards them.... anyways, i had to get the hole car valet'ed and the splitters look like they took most of the impact low down, the side bits came unclipped slightly but other than that they are good....very strong
  20. yes nice one, my car can tighten a nut that needs 179lb/ft to tighten, i'll just hook up the front axle hold on .
  21. yes and no all vr6's have an ABS problem at some point and it tends to be costly. I made sure my car had, had ABS problems in the past (and thus it was repaired), the bill for the ABS was nearly 700 quid all in....very expensive affairs.
  22. www.vwvortex.com look at the DIY thread..... its illustratred and answers all of your questions, just ensure you remember their drivers side is our passenger side. i've heard that $700 (pounds) is not uncommon for this procedure, its quite labour intensive. [ Edited Tue Nov 02 2004, 07:37AM ]
  23. fyi i had a FULL (my needle was off the scale) tank of petrol + aircon was on...how much difference do u think this made?
