interseting, i phoned up a my mate from VW on sunday evening and he assures me that his 1994 vw vr6 odb1 has buzzing lights.... i dont get it.

could be a multitude of problems, good luck, its usually quite expensive to get the f00king thing fixed, i know from my service history that my previous owner paid nearly $500 (pounds) to fix the abs.

cheers lads, i didnt think it was too much of a problem becuase the manual does indeed state a fair bit of consumption, its always used 10w, magnatec for modern engines. it HAS had 15w for engines with over 70000mls in it too. Also blew a headlamp last night, its bloody hard to change becuase there is bugger all space to get at the bulbs....it aint no mk2 .

enlarged tb is worth the extra money, but imo get it chipped while your at it (even though the tb is on exhange.)

your battery shouldnt run dry if you leave your main beam on for a bit. You should check/replace/refill your battery asap.

my 1996 highline does, very handy (also indicators) FYI you can buy a kit from maplins that will buz for you . I fitted it to my 1989 golf when i had it....very handy. [ Edited Sun Oct 17 2004, 10:01PM ]

slipped or broke. Check the physical connections with the motor and the pulley thingy, i dont think its too hard, check vw vortex they have a DIY i think.

the speaker cable is fine, keep it Original makes it easier to sell yer car off in the future. If you take your H/U take the speaker iso connector and use a iso connector from halfords and then run the speaker cable from there to your amp..yes its more wiring, but it makes for an easier install and if you route it properly it shouldnt affect the sound..unless you want HIGH HIGH HIGH quality....in which case drill or melt that connector.

17's dont look particular appropriate on VR's with standard hieght and low'r profile tyres. Have a look at my [pics] thread under wheels and suspension. It just looks a bit...no lets be honest, it looks shit.

Hey peeps, 1.2 LTR's of oil with 1300 mls...sound okay? no leaks that i can see, no visible black smoke. Do the vr's use oil in this fashion? I was kinda worried when i found out becuase i checked it when i first had it serviced and it was full, yesterday it was at the bottom bit of the 'acceptable' mark. Took a bottle and a half to fill the bugger back up. At this rate i think i'll have to KEEP a larger oil can in the car... . 10w/40 okay? or should it be 15w.

if your sparkies were anywhere as crap as mine, then yes you'll feel a difference through 3000+ rpm. The petrol wasnt being burnt properly and therefore the engine was not producing the power it shouldve been at given rpms.

if you must Drink and Drive (which is stupid becuase even small amounts of alcohol mess with you) then stay within the legal limit. This evening i had a half glass of wine with dinner before leaving for london. The rules are there for a reason...the DD rule is a very important one and anyone who goes over the limit and drives is a retard.

hella do do some bm lights with auto beam level adjustment (if thats what you're talking about). I didnt realize that my HID's need auto levelling, is this what my ballast unit does?

hehe, well i really wanted your alloys instead of the ones i bought, but i went back to the shop and they told me they couldnt change em since i'd had them fitted ..so much for trade friends. I'll live with them for a while. Also i'm still not sure about that exhaust. will need to take pics and get your opinion.
