    i think your vw blood is getting too thin!!!! i work @ vw and play with them in my spare time!!! am i mad?? seriously though sometimes i just can't be bothered you have to have a break from time to time - recharge, rest and recover. . . . come back ready for more . . . as for a to do list mine gets longer everyday. . . i dont think a car is ever finished - there is always something else to do. . .

    that price is about right i'm afraid. . . . mine broke in the summer and i was quoted 300 to have it refurbished/reconditioned. . . as for fitting - you can do it yourself easy. . . . its under the plastic rain deflector at the bottom of the windscreen. . . .

    make sure you have plenty of antifreeze/coolant to keep the temperatures half sensible. . . . .and plenty of oil . . other than that should be fine . . . (touches wood) mine has been so far . . .

    they are NOT the same a vento front lower spoiler will not fit a golf bumper - i've tried . . . .if it has a black top half there is a ridge in the golf one that is not in the vento one . . . other than that i don't know what the differences are but they are different . . . . .

    i had an awful creaking /clunking coming from mine it was the front wishbone bush at the back - where the wishbone bolts into the subframe - turns out it sounded much worse than it was as it was echoing through the subframe and sounded AWFUL . . . was only the bush in the end

    breather from the head goes straight into the air intake pipe just before the throttle body. . . has carbon in the breather system. . . ( thats what the vw techs have told me anyway!!...)

    the wheels will be fine - i have et 38 on mine with 7x17 and 205/40/17 tyres . . . . . you will prob need to get the arches rolled though . .

    if you are interested vw book time to replace chains and tensioners is 17 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gearbox off, clutch off, flywheel off - big job

    i had a problem with mine randomly stalling - also if you tried to accelerate there was no power unless you dropped the clutch, revved it a few times, and then tried again. . .. . . . .turned out to be as simple as the throttle body needed cleaning out as it was full of carbon hence making the flap stick and confusing the position sensor and ecu . . . .
