    mk1 bay is now finished.. new steering wheel and rear lights.. looking shiny in the summer sun... and all three of our motors together outside the house... aaah..

    this low... as you can see the sump has had issues with the floor. from outside it doesn't look that low though.... that is on 7.5x17 wheels with 205/40/17 tyres.....

    so after buying the above mentioned manky filthy wheels i have had a loooooong winter mission to get them sorted... gave them a wash off, still crappy. paint strippered the outside rims.. beat shit out of them to get the bolts out, then did it all again to get the centres out, they were REALLY badly corroded... then had the centres powder coated, the outers lathed to get rid of the pitting and corrosion, the spent about eleventy million years (approx) polishing them up... *-) still, don't think they came out too badly... anyway i'm bored and going home, more later.....

    and, stupidly (?) whilst the mk1 is here : - the vr is out here : - oh well i've been out for a good hour drive tonite in the vr to blow all the cobwebs out and get it all nice and hot, since it hasn't moved for about 3 weeks.. :$ i have been lucky and landed myself a work van to go back and forth with which is very handy in this weather, and we have finally bought sam a new motor too, so she will be cruising in the summer in this.. and has been driving it at every possible opportunity so far, hence i haven't used the vr in ages... which now has mk4 lights, clear indicators, side r

    last weekend, started to finally put it all back together.... started thw weekend like this... didn't take long to get the rocker cover on, the coil, water flanges, hoses at the back of the bay, water bottle, airbox etc all into place.. and when i got soooo cold i had to stop things looked like this.... starting to look quite tasty ... still have to finish the alternator, buy and fit cambelt and tensioner, get them fitted along with water pump and belt then double check everything and tidy some wires up and we should be ready to go.. woop so at the mo, before :- and after :-
