  1. Id query the £40 as that is just stupid! I got charged £20 by my specialist and I thought that was a bit high considering its just plugging the tool in and reading the codes. But I know they have to pay for these tools (used to work for a company who sold diagnostics tools) and know they arent exactly cheap unless you get VAGCOM.
  2. Hmmmm maybe ill get mine looked at seeing its at 148k
  3. Heres my pics from Sunday. Only took pics of our cars, sorry quite a few of mine :-)
  4. Sounds like a fault code specific to the Climate Control to me. Sorry cant help anymore though. :-(
  5. My clutch is now due to be replaced at 147k
  6. I was just going to say that Steve as I know this first hand ;-)
  7. You changing from a plastic rocker to an alloy rocker? If so you need different bolt/nuts/fuel line holders. Just thought id point this out.
  8. Well mines just turned 147k and still going strong. Needs a clutch now but if the receipts/history I got with the car is anything to believe then it will be the first clutch change its had!
  9. Unless he took the picture within a few seconds of starting her up ;-)
  10. Ask vdubgirl (Claire) on here as she can get megaleads alot cheaper than magnecors and they seem to be good quality.
  11. I knew I should have entered show and shine too lol
  12. cheeky get ;-) :-p Bit slow arent you mate? ;-)
  13. Or as on my car the airbag has recorded an accident and this fault cant be cleared!
  14. Yeah true, but would take longer for the heat to travel to the bottom hose than the top.
  15. I think what mk3anni is trying to say is that if the thermostat has jammed shut (faulty) this would stop the coolant flowing. Because of this the coolant on the engine side of the thermostat rises in temperature. This heat is transferred through the metal of the thermostat to the coolant on the radiator side of the thermostat. Thus giving a hot pipe at the top and a cooler pipe (due to lack of flow) at the bottom.
  16. Wheels really suit your car mate, better than they did on mine I recon!
  17. Ok, I wont move it then. :-D
  18. The plastic one that 'came' with all VR's (mine didnt) tends to snap easily and is no where near as good as a metal one.
  19. Just pull it off! Think its just secured by the edges of the trim on the left and right of it if that makes sense. These come off pretty easy tbh.
  20. As mk3anni has said its not going to be the brake pad warning light as that is a different one to the ABS light. Will hopefully just be a sensor playing up, check the wiring and contacts for the one playing up (found through diagnostics like VAG-COM) and maybe give the contacts a clean. Ive had ABS problems on my VR since ive had it (nearly 4 years) and im starting to think its probably the ABS pump at fault now as the sensor has been replaced already but its only interrmitant so luckily never seems to be on for the MOT ;-)
  21. Took me 2 hours to change my tensioner as the housing where bolt is bolted into to release the tensioner shattered hence couldnt release the tension on the belt! Just my luck reallyy :-D
