    Im just having a low temp thermostat from NEUSPEED (available from AwesomeGTI) fitted while my engines in bits. At least I know what to look for with it fitted! They are 180 degrees F which is 82.2 degrees C.

    Should be adjusted automatically by the belt tensioner. You sure the squeeling is coming from the belt and not a pulley?

    Just put it on a really low setting like 150 or a bit lower, I said about this over on E38 mate ;-)

    Used to do this to me occasionally, would keep pressing the submit button and nothing would happen, then it would moan about multiple posts. Seems ok now though.

    Would probably cost more like £40 to get it polished, not the same as doing it yourself though. :-) You may want to invest in a polishing mop kit from www.frost.co.uk or one of the companies who sell them on eBay. Keep us updated on the progress Sal, glad you got the rocker cover ok. ;-)

    Ill check the part number on my spare one at home and see which one it is.

    LED's will flas twice as fast as they take less current than normal bulbs, which in effect makes the circuit think you have a bulb blown. Same happens when you remove a bulb. There are ways around this though, just cant remember where I saw it. :-)

    The bulb is soldered in IIRC. You need to either resolder one in or get another switch.

    Some BMC kits come with the samco (or other) hose to connect the filter to the MAF. Dont think its provided by BMC though.

    Hows your engine sounding now after a few days? Mines going in tomorrow for the same work!

    Check the earth strap for the starter too as this may be badly corraded and would have probably been messed with when you had your chains done.
