  1. One thing to remember is that Chips Away are all franchises, so just because one is bad, doesn't mean they all are. We have one of our regional CGTI members who has used a local Chips Away guy and is more than impressed with his work. Can't comment myself cos i've never used him, but i've seen the work that he's done to that members car and its looks almost as original. IMO a good job. Not arguing that your local one could be a useless tosser though!
  2. They look tops mate. Warren - Sell me your syncro..............please!
  3. Pretty much the same as Binliner, only i just do the club stands and never anything more. Clean it properly the day before, then a damp cloth/shammy when i get there.
  4. Black Highlines faster???? I like this thought......

    Lupo vr6

I remember that the Polo VR6 needed a pretty big cut out on the slam panel too......... The Lupo engine bay is surprisingly big for the size of the car.............
  6. No one spots me! Think it's cos every dub owner round here seems to know me anyway!
  7. 4.54 litres to a gallon, and i average around 260miles to a tank. Although techincally you are still right if you are talking about a US Gallon....... [ Edited Mon Apr 11 2005, 12:23PM ]
  8. I like! Very similar to my angel eyes too..... Now i just need some bulbs like those.....
  9. Pretty much the same here. Water guage dead centre once shes warmed up, never any more. Oil has been to 106 max so far on the motorway at 90 ish..
  10. A mate of mine has an Eaton M45 that he has offered me, but i couldn't find a simple solution to fitting it.......gonna pay special attention to the VWVortex thread now.....
  11. Once a week if i get the time. Winter months might see it at every couple of weeks.......may be even every month.....
  12. My understanding is this. VW are designing a new 3.6 engine for the Touareg, based on the FSI idea. This is apparently a direct replacement for the 3.2. VW have also registered the R36 name................... Speculation maybe, but if ever there was firm ground to speculate on..............
  13. Gorgeous! Now, where can i find some cheap rims that look that good........
  14. Excellent news! Don't think i've had a car sail through for about 5 years!!!
  15. Through breakages......................my aerial mast, and a gear box mount. Seem to remember thats it so far...... long list to come though!
  16. whats the best way to flush the system through too?? I'm planning on getting a new expantion tank sometime as mines that dirty, but i thought i might as well flush the system though when its off to get rid of the crud. Any suggestions??
  17. yeah i've noticed that now.......... might try a few of the people on CGTI, they do anything for something free! lol
  18. i haven't gone into the offer section yet....... was waiting till i had more referrals then i was going to look into the reast of the site. I just registered an email address and my address details, thats it.
  19. Can't guarantee this to work guys, but click this link and sign up and see if i get anything. Might be best to creat an alternative email address (or use a spare one that you have) just in case of major spamming. Try it though, i only need 14 referrals to make it work! 8) Cheers
  20. Bloody chav's! I had a similar one yesterday whilst driving the Lupo. Some kid pulled up to a junction in a 1.4 Lupo with his missus in the passengers seat (blacked out windows job too), just as we drove past. He then proceded to pull out behind us in a hail of wheel spin and sit right on my arse through a 30 limit to a set of lights. Unfortunately he turned the other way so i couldn't give him the finger and leave him in the trails of the GTI!! He gave us a right stare as he drove past though.......can't understand why. I've only ever had one of those types of things happen with the VR b
  21. Definately more un refined as far as build goes, but not that much more "brutal" if you ask me.......... You do get a lot more attention though.....
  22. I've been told about plugs blowing out of VR heads. Worries me sometimes too. Don't know what the official solve is, but i would have thought that you'd be able to helicoil it. Agree with the fact that the head will more than likely need to come off though.
  23. I found with mine that i couldn't get into the centre and rhs plugs on the front row with a normal plug socket, there just wasn't enought room. I trotted off to Halfords and spent about a fiver on a squashed tube affair with a tommy bar handle. Very basic but works a treat!
  24. Spotted Saturday in Pizza Hut car park in Worcester, after they driver slowed down to less than walking pace to look at my car, but drove off before i could get close enough. Wondered if they might spot the VR6OC stickers in the windows and come visit us! It was a nice low Dragon Green VR, reg no. K8 RVS or something like, but looked to be a later spec, so obviously not a proper K plater. Was slammed on Momo Arrows. Anyone know it?? [ Edited ]
  25. I've quite recently sold my Corrado and bought the Highline, and much prefer the Golf. The Corrado was nice, don't get me wrong, but not THAT good. The Golf feels nippier to me too, as well as much better built. Can't argue with it handling better though!
