  1. OUCH! Sounds like a painful whack that! Sorry to hear it. Hope you're feeling good. Of course, at the right price, a nice black Highline might have to go to fund a nice MK2 VR6........ lol
  2. I've never had a ticket from going the opposite way and theres one locally that a mate regularly passes at over 50mph......
  3. OK Pete, you can have them...................for £200!
  4. I've got the 2 box Jetex on mine with the twin round pipes. Got it from www.motorsportworld.co.uk and it was a bargain 265 quid delivered, just had to have it fitted (which a gargae down the road did as they owed me a favour). I was amazed that even with no centre tunnel box it isn't loud. IMO it compliments the VR growl perfectly!
  5. Nice that blue one! Look like my lights.
  6. They are nice cars the Corrado VR's, but, and may be it was just mine that was a bad one, i found the Golf much better built and actually slightly nippier. Don't get me wrong though, i'd probably have another. They look fantastic, handle like a dream and have lots of little toys such as the electric spoiler. The most important things to look for are electrical gremlins, like windows not working, sunroof a bit dodgy (can also get runner problems with the sunroofs. not too expensive for parts but an awkward job), rear spoiler should go up at about 45-47mph and back down at about 15. Theres a
  7. Almost as good as the one Halfords/Ripspeed employee that "understood how i could be mistaken, as the MK3 Golf is very similar to the MK2, just with a larger lower bumper" and that "the 1990 onward MK3 Golf had 6.5" speakers in the doors, just like the MK4 that replaced it in 1992" Needless to say, i didn't buy my 5.25" speakers for the front of my 1991 MK2 from him! lol Although, i was tempted to buy an electric aerial from the guy that told me it was too deep to fit in the front wing of the MK2 so it would have to go in the rear wing instead..... LMAO
  8. I've not heard anything bad about the Keskins. Quite fancied getting some myself when the money allows. I used Style Dynamix for my Ronal Turbos on my MK2, and their service was fantastic. Must admit to buying them off their stand at GTI Festival, but it was the only set they had on them and so had to take the one wheel off their display. No arguments though, they just went ahead and did it. Have also emailed them queries in the past and had rapid replies. Recommended supplier IMO
  9. I don't know if it'd be the same with blackberry, but i wouldn't see why not. I was actually told to use black colour polish on my AquaBlue corrado. It was too late though, as i'd used a blue bottle and it looked shocking. Personally, i don't use colour polishes now as i don't thing they really help.
  10. Go with the polish! I have, and i love it! I'd post you a pic up but i cant find it!! lol
  11. Doesn't Paul Horrocks have them?? I had a feeling that's where Deako got his from....but may be that was strictly Passat?
  12. I know this might sound a bit dumb, but i had an odd clicking on the Corrado that really got to me. When i took the wheel off, i found that they had not attached the brake pipe bracket to the bottom strut bolts when i had my camber done, and that was catching on the wheel weight. Really annoying, and simlar to yours, didn't do it all the time.
  13. Rang them last night as my insurance runs out with Elephant today. Explained that i had heard good reports and would go with them if they could reduce their price a little bit. A bit of clicking about and he tells me that he can get it down another 35 quid. For myself (27, 9 yrs NCB, no accidents, 4 points in 2001), and the missus (24, no accidents, no points and about 5 yrs NCB), they got it to £504 F.C. Nor gonna argue about that! Was hoping for under £500, but thats close enough. 10 out of 10 for service with these guys too! 8)
  14. They must be. They always do..... Come on you people, sort it out and get your names down, this really is a fantastic weekend!
  15. HIC were briiliant for me until i moved. Then i couldn't get a decent quote at all! They've quoted me nigh on 1000 quid for both of us on the VR this year, where i paid 599 for both of us on the Corrado last year (throught Elephant). The best quote so far has come from a broker in SOmerset at £450, but thats just for me. Brentacre are the cheapest for both of us ,at £540, but i'll be ringing them later to try and get that below 500, then i'll roll with them.
  16. The best weekend on the calendar this one. Absolutely love the show. Of course, CGTI Worcs will be diplaying in our usual manner.......normally with beer in hand!
  17. aye, exactly that. Something to do with holding down the trip button and turning on the ignition IIRC...... It's in the book though.
  18. AHA, caught out! I watched you leave, and spoke to you whilst you were sat in your MK2!
  19. Eh, don't think you can sway this deal with your dodgy blue pills....
  20. When you guys have finished with it, do yo try to wash the clay out?? Due to weather and the fact that my car was pretty bad, i've spread it over a few days (and still haven't completely finished), but i've found that the one peice has gone quite sticky and grey........is it best to wash it out or just chuck it and use another bit??
  21. Hmmm, no one really want stainless outers on ZW1's.......that just ruins them. I'd need you to give me the whole set for only 2 of my extremely rare, superlight, fandabbydosey Solitudes.........YOU KNOWS IT MAKES SENSE!
  22. I've got the classic with the laser attachment, and to be honest, i was pretty disgruntled when it didn't pick up the camera van on a bridge on teh M4....unless he wasn't using it at the time perhaps.......
  23. Hmm, a heart attack, thats another potential contender out of the question...... Rich - we all know that ain't true! And like i said last night, we'll find a way to kill you off. I didn't realise that we could have Claire in the running for these too.......i could be up on a mass murder charge very soon........ Perhaps i can learn hypnotherapy and get the wheels through some kind of persuasive tactic.....
  24. Definately not harsh. I'm amazed how it works personally, but i'd say its no where near as harsh as the likes of T-Cut o any other renovator, and yet does just as good a job (although doesn't remove scratches and swirls...)
  25. Recently, my aircon seems to make a funny noise occaisionally. Almost like an air lock in a water pipe in your house...it kinda hums/rumbles (very hard to describe the noise). I was thinking that perhaps it may need regassing as it doesn't seem to get as cold as it did last year (but then it was a new thing to me last year, so it may just have seemed colder), but how do i tell? Compressor seems to work fine, it cuts in and out as expected and makes all the right noises, just very occasionally it makes this funny squeally/howling noise.
