  1. or the height from the wheel centres to the bottom of the arch............. people keep aking how much mine is lowered by and i don't know!
  2. Just a question. I don't know exactly and don't want a nasty reply (christ, i've bought some shit in my time too thats cost me soo much to repair i could have bought something i actually wanted with the same money), but there seems to be a lot of problems for someone who actually wants a completely different car.
  3. You have a point. Surprised by what Storms are selling for now though, i should have bought one after all! Before i bought my "normal" C VR6 i looked at a couple of Storms that were all priced at £7500. One was a 54k miler. Perhaps i should have bought that one instead and made a bit of money! I think it'll be a while before R's are down to Corrado money though, and to be honest, i can't see that many owners will take the Corrado route, its more likely the MK5 GTI that will replace them. We didn't mean any offence with our replies i'm sure!
  4. unbelievable that someone should admit that! I'm sure with the amount you've had to spend on repairs to yours a Scooby wouldn't have been far off!
  5. now that's just being gready! You can't give one item away and expect two in return. I'm afraid you're gonna have to choose between them. Kylie or Rachel Stevens.......who's it to be? You gotta be realistic too, like me! Oh, I'd like to swap a broken Flymo Minimo and a squeaky wheelbarrow for one of those robotic automatic lawnmower things too please!
  6. Storm with a Schrick and 60k? I'd pitch it at around the 7k ish mark myself.
  7. I drove a track prep'd bug eye. Just seemed lame below about 3k and was flat as a pancake above 4500rpm. This was all my own personal experience, i'm not saying they're all like that, and i certainly ain't wanting to cause any arguments. Perhaps my VR really is that good............
  8. you need to keep that turbo spinning, and compared to the laziness of a R, or VR, it's just too different. I know it's the same with almost all Turbo cars, but IMO it was all or nothing. Similar to what was proved on Top Gear with the FQ400. Off boost it's useless!
  9. We know they're illegal, and we have to accept it! I've got mine on, and they've been on for a couple of weeks with no hassle. Mine are all spaced correctly and most poeple cannot see the difference at all. If we get pulled with them, so be it!
  10. i'm sure we could arrange something with the chassis number and plate of your old 5 door to make mine a 97............................
  11. I'm with Justin here i reckon. The R32 is going to have less of a depreciation than the Japs here. It is a nice car, i've had the joy of a spin in one, as well as following one, and being taken for passenger rides a few times, and it's definately the car i'd have. It sounds awesome, and with the 4WD, the traction off roundabouts and from bends is awesome! It has sensible service intervals and no turbo to f*ck up, and is basically a VR6 anyway! The Scoob that i've had the pleasure of driving was quick yes, but IMO it was awkward. It needed working and thinking about in order to get it to b
  12. Hi, i've got a '96 black Golf VR6 Highline with 107k miles on the clock, FVWSH (apart from the last one that i did myself), lowered, Jetex s/s and Green induction kit. I'd like to swap it for a Bugatti Veyron.

    Snow

Well i woke up this morning full of joy, hoping to look out of the window and see loads of snow................what did i see??? F*ck all, it was dark! But when it got a bit lighter, still no snow!
  14. i was thikning of an evening motorsport course for now to start me off, but can't seem to find them anywhere. They all seem to be full time ones. Any suggestions, as with the house to pay for, i can't quit work all together! By the way Andy, i'm in Worcestershire, and picked Prodrive etc as the ones that i know aren't too far away.
  15. very very nice! Excellent find, it seems. Now, those parts you're taking off..........
  16. I've been after a change of career for a while now due to being frustrated in the job i'm in. For those that don't know, i'm currently a Project Engineer (or Design Engineer more than anything) for a manufacturing company that produces metal melting furnaces. Just for a bit of history for you guys, i went into an apprenticeship with another company that manufactured rolling roads and engine test beds for automotive and aero industries. I specialised in design there, and spent the final 18 months of the scheme, plus an extra 6 months afterwards, in their drawing office. I then moved from th
  17. Like he's said, you need the plastic lead removal tool off the bonnet stay. If yours isn't there, i believe you can get a metal alternative for about £20. I also found that the front centre and far right plugs were not accessible with a plug socket (it wouldn't fit though the whole in the manifold) so i bought a tube style wrench from Halfords for about a fiver that fits lovely. As for the plugs, VAG use NGK BRK5EKU and they sell them for about 3.50 each + vat (i think) and the Bosch FR8LDC are also suitable (that's what i've got in mine) and they were £22 for the 6 delivered from GSF.
  18. bit late again! Congrats mate, glad everythign went well! All the best to you all!
  19. mine has a slight tend towards the left, same with the Corrado that i had before. I think it must be a VR thing!
  20. I have a sticker too! But i bought 2 at the last RR day, so i'll bring this one back to you at the end of the month Pete!
