  1. that looks like ollie driving it in that pic too, what a cheek!
  2. just make sure you drive to shows, it'll be on 3 wheels or summat otherwise if you let ollie drive it there, lol!
  3. thats kuz u drive like a wet lettuce steve! never had any troubles myself against tt's
  4. apprehensive looking passenger there fella, lol!
  5. if i'm there i'll be fitting my car with two mirror blanking plates and wired to a high voltage supply to stop drunken idiots falling on it and knocking stuff off! ~
  6. tappets do just that when worn, tap, tap, tappety tap. a definate knock is something more sinister i believe, and should be investigated post haste! i have a tappety head atm and it is defo that, no postmen in my engine bay fella! get it seen to pronto!!
  7. changing them yourself can be done if you have the space/time/tools, but if you want it done properly then you are going to need it mapping anyway. best to give it someone who knows how to install if you can tbh, no jumped teeth then and all is well , you can really lose out on power if you get it wrong, even if you dont cause any engine damage!
  8. with regards to the sunroof issue, do you have a total closure alarm? if so, it appears on many vr's at least, that the total closure facility does just that, but the parameters of closure are not quite enough to close the roof to its seal completely. i have a prob with mine that whistles when i get in it and the roofs not been opened at all. a quick flick on the forward button and all is well!
  9. how easy is it to actually fit? 45 mins is coming from the people who actually make the bit and know whats what!
  10. i have always said that magnecor leads are the nads, been using them on my vw's for years now and never had any probs bar one on a mk1 gti, and after 4years use they replaced the whole set under warranty no probs whatsoever! a defo product i'd highly recommend
  11. always best to check if it could be head gasket failure as they are prone to this if maltreated, a hydrocarbon test will confirm if no visible sign is present. it could just be a leaking thermo housing allowing coolant to spill down the side of the block onto the gearbox, vr's are also prone to this as well, the leak in the thermo housing only happens when temps are enought to open a crack and let water out, thus creating an air bubble in the sytem which will lead to a boil over of the expansion tank as the bubble surfaces. then the system cools again till the next leak/air lock, and the cycle
  12. as said above, lights all round look to chav, interior is done well, but too much all the same, nice boot build, but why does the boost gauge appear to be pointing at the passenger seat? front bumper dont float my boat, or his wish list down the side of the car ! and i've seen more impressive n/a vr6 vids than that tbh! still a well presented car though, and puts a lot of cars to shame i bet!
  13. the cia kits you are refeering to are similar in design to the carbonio cia's. basically a plastic, or carbon, tube from the tb leads down into the offside wing and to a filter behind the bumer. loads of cold air feed and a deep intake roar, but be carefull of of lots of standing water and deep puddles as this may enter the intake system if close enough to the filter itself!
  14. think its just a shot of justins on the rollers minus the front bumper peeps are referring to! i could be wrong of course, but i subscribe too!
  15. you are officially as mad as a hatter claire. wish i could make it down for this, but as usual i'm going to be working, as i have been for the past 5 years, on this festival date! keep the updates coming girl! ps, i think pink is defo your colour rich, should have got pf to paint the vr in that hue! instead of boring old noir!
  16. no you can get polished covers for the top of the intake manifold. i think that you can get them from eurotek now. give vin a shout here:- www.eurotek-online.com
  17. yes, thats the standard location for rear speakers in a 3 door! standard grills should fit over all but the biggest of speakers, some modding may be needed but you can utilise them!
  18. just wondering if anyones been here before off here, and if so what its like, as i'm going in may and is the first time i'll have been to any of the greek islands!
  19. try these fella http://www.singlewiper.com/ i have one and its fine, maybe not as much sweep on the screen as two standard wipers, but better looking, and the single linkage sweeps half again as fast as standard!
  20. tbh, you are better going for a good spring/shock set-up that a cheap coilover kit. coilovers are for hardcore anyhow, and if you want comfort, then forget even the most modest of drop kits! koni/eibach combo is favoured with most owners doing shox/springz only. 40mm drop aim. tyres will have no real effect on suspension quality, only road grip/drive! 4 wheel alignment is a good move once wou have done the job to get most benefit!
  21. well mines obd1 and mine are in the same place as craggsy described too!
  22. just the normal recirculation process of most modern cooling systems fella! its when flow stops you need to concern yourself as to why!
