  1. ICE install in the boot is pretty smart, but the rest of it is just NASTY. Makes me feel better about chucking 17 grand away on mine....
  2. Yeah, and you have to leave the kids at home too!!
  3. My dream car. First thing I'd buy if I won the lottery. Although I would go for the roadster version in blue:
  4. An FSE is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, rather than a fixed 4-bar one (3-bar on OBD2 modesls) as fitted to the VR6 as standard. I don't know what type of FPR the Audi S4 runs.
  5. If your car has no air-con, there's quite a bit of space behind the wing/bumper if you relocate your carbon canister to the other side (or do away with it completely). Not enough for a BMC CDA or a RamAir, but easily enough for a standard-sized cone such as a K&N. Mine has a K&N cone. On a car with air-con, you'll find that the condenser/drier (the silver cylinder thing) uses up a fair bit of space, but it should still be possible to get a cone filter in behind it.

    VR6 models?

I got a VR6 cabrio model off ebay. Has pride of place on my desk at work.
  7. Where did you get the parts to convert to OBD2 management? I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
  8. We get sooo many people asking about retro-fitting aircon to a Golf VR6 without. Most decide not to bother because they're not sure what's involved. Totally fair play to you for giving it a go, and sharing the details with us. If you can post a fully illustrated guide to fitting aircon, including installing the compressor pump, evaporator, radiator, routing all the pipes through the bulkhead and doing the electrics, a year's free premium membership will be yours.
  9. Incredible!! Light those rear tyres up, boy!!! The Yanks show us how it's done once again!!
  10. The Haynes manual will cover all bodywork, interior, suspension, brakes & transmission. For the engine & electrics, you will need the Bentley manual http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROBERT-BENTLEY-GOLF-MANUAL-INCLUDING-VR6_W0QQitemZ230036109009QQihZ013QQcategoryZ18439QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. I want this car. If you ever get bored of it and want to swap, please let me know!
  12. That's the most well illustrated guide to a mk2 VR6 conversion I've seen yet! Be sure to keep us updated on your progress!
  13. We can do better than that, Andy!. We have a full fitting guide in the premium member's section here: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?106391 The guide is for a Golf mk3, but because the kit mounts to the engine rather than the body, fitting will be the same for a Corrado, mk2 VR6, whatever, other than the routing of the cold air feed (which you don't have to use).
  14. It defies explanation. Even when I had the VW Motorsport VSR manifold on there, the car STILL made maxiumum torque above 5K, which is DEFINITELY not right. Vince says valve timing problem (intermediate shaft not timed). This is going to be verified once and for all next week...
  15. I will start with an example from my car in July 2006 form... Car: Golf mk3 cabriolet with 2.8 12v VR6 engine (OBD1), approx 90,000 miles. Mods: Schrick 268 Cams Corrado Throttle body BMC CDA Air filter Raceland 6-branch stainless exhaust manifold Milltek cat-back stainless exhaust system.
