  1. ok, but are they all the same paint code still do you know?
  2. for the buyers/owners guide again.... need pics of... - highline sill protectors. - out side view of sill (where the side skirt si on normal vr's). - scan of log book to show where it states 'highline' - will of course make sure no other details are posted up when it goes on line so don't worry. post them up here, PM me a link, or e-mail me on acf8181@hotmail.com (deffo e-mail for the log book) cheers.
  3. anyone know what the paint codes are for both highline colours?
  4. any i've missed off this list? also, i got some of the dates/changes from a parkers guide so not sure on the accuracy. ’92-’93 Distributor system replaced with coil pack. ABS control unit moved form passenger footwell to under rear bench. Oct ’94 Immobiliser fitted as standard Dec ’94 Diagnostics port changed form 2x2 plug, to 16pin plug. Drivers and passengers airbag added. Apr ‘95 Substantial revisions, obd to obd2. ‘Highline’ launched ’96-’97 Top double row timing chain replaced with single row chain. i will try and add chassis no's when i get round to it.
  5. ok, does anyone have any other interior (as standard fitment) than those pictured below? MORE QUESTIONS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE also, does anyone know if leather recaros (not sports seats, like highline) were an option on the vr6? and finally, found this pic of some chream leather seats, were these an option then i presume? or do you think these are a re-trim?
  6. anyone happen to know what they came out the factory wearing?
  7. can you take a pic of them please, like this - please note, that is a '94 on bbs alloy (presume its '94 on as fabio has them on his '94). the type i want is kind of slightly dished. ALSO - does anyone know if any early vr6's were ever fitted with the 'rado style 5 spokes as standard? [ Edited ]
  8. can you do me a favour? take a pic of your distributer and of your abs control unit (is under passenger footwell carpet apparantely (should be easy to access though), and e-mail them to me at acf8181@hotmail.com or post them up here, or PM me a link. its for the owners guide we are making for the site.

    MOT

that winds me up....a garage once did 200 miles in my previous car when it was supposedly in bits! they even left the fuel receipt in the glovebox....oh, and it had no tax at the time! no way you can prove it really though.
  10. does anyoe know if all highlines were only fitted with 'normal' air con as standard, or was climatronic available as an option? also, whilst here, what other options were available on highline? i know about the wooden wheel already.
  11. it is a very nice car, but...its way too expensive for what it is. £20k for a golf, no chance....thats scooby, evo, and even used porsche money. all these three are in another league in terms of engineering. for more practiaclity a e46 bmw is a better choice.
  12. well, thats what it says in the haynes, and the owners manual as well i think...have a look.
  13. never bump start a car that has a CAT....it can be damaged by doing this, and CATs cost mega bucks.
  14. seeing as you aren't after a low drop i'd say it sounds like the koni adjustables/eibach spring route is what you want.
  15. yep...dash has to come out, and yes will be a fairly long job...also very good chance dash will sqeek or rattle as they never go back in like they were. i think...think....you can by pass it as a temporary measure, by removing the other hose that goes into the bulkhead and joining them together. bung up the holes as there will be water in the matrix and you dont want it possibly leaking into the car.
  16. yep....did it on o.e. shocks and lowering springs as well. lmao! you have to find a fairly tight corner with good quality tarmac and plenty of spare room and go in at an absolutely rediculous speed (though as its mega tight its 40mph max), whilst trail braking (though you have to jump on the gas quick as the back comes round, which it obviously will cause only one rear wheel has grip!). haven't really tried on with the susp kit on, suspect the rear slides out too easily to do it. used to do it all the time in various punto's (i owned one, but had lots of coutesy cars when it broke). best was
  17. powder coating usually gives a very good finish....maybe get a different person to powder coat them this time?!
  18. yeah, you'll get a better finish if you use proper colour coded bumpers. will be a lot cheaper as well if you can find them the same colour as your car. are actually three types of bumper that vw sell....fully textured (non-painted), half textured (half painted, gti and early vr6), and fully smooth (fully painted, for late vr6)...easier to get the correct ones to start with.
  19. try autolgym 'bumper care' and use lots of it
  20. the vr6 has one per wheel....so whats known as a 4 channel system. it is possible to get cars with 2 channels systems....either one sensor for each axle, or only sensors on the front wheels. these are rare now though i think, and were very ineffective. my punto had a 3 channel system, so had one sensor for the rear axle, where as front had one on each wheel....its still a poor solution and more dangerous than manual brakes IMO. i was very unhappy that when i pulled the fuse out it had rediculous rear bias...was just no way you could safely use it in everyday use. i did do a test on a disused i
  21. i've had an e-mail requesting me to re enter my credit card details via a link a couple of times now. is a con, though the e-mail is a perfect copy of a ebay e-mail, but the link comes up with a weird address. you gotta be real careful for cons with e-mails claiming to be from ebay.
