  1. I thought BMC CDAs were universal? or is it spce in the bay thats the problem?
  2. you are... shouldv'e got semi synthetic!
  3. I've had FK konigsports on a previous VR which were great... FK highsports (which I presume are like silverlines but not stainless)are the ones I've just binned because after 2 years they're seized and leaking
  4. Yeah a friend has (and rates) konis, handle well and still going strong 5 years later! Koni & KW are both possibilities but pricey Any recommendations for or against any cheaper set ups?
  5. It does sound like the ignition switch I had a similar problem a few years ago... iirc it wasn't expensive or difficult to fit
  6. Are you sure they're et30? ET30 shouldn't be sticking out that far! A 195/40/17 tyre should do the trick and a bit of negative camber would help as well
  7. My coilovers have had it, I temporarily replaced them with some second hand shocks n springs but tbh they're abysmal, worse than leaking coilovers! So... I need to get some new coilovers and wanted to know what people have got and what they think of them in terms of handling/comfort and wether they seize or not (keeping in mind my car is a daily, not a track car) I have some in mind but wondered if there's any cheaper ones out there that are any good?
  8. Got any pics of your problem as Im having trouble picturing how the height of your wheel/tyre is going to help tuck them under the arches? If it helps I went from 205/40/17 to 195/40/17 on my 7.5" rims and it stopped it rubbing... tbh a 195 would easily go on an 8 so Id go for that over a 205
  9. closer to £1000 so don't be too disheartened Nat! Anyway it's not the camera, it's all about where you point it... honest!
  10. er... you sure thats the right size????! I thought the diameter of the maf on the airbox side was 80mm? I'm sure the hose I had was a straight 82mm one or something that I stretched over the BMC... like I said SFS for about £8
  11. cheers... prints are available here http://www.photoboxgallery.com/VWprints
  12. Just sorted my pics and got a few of you lot (more here http://www.phatdubs.co.uk or here http://www.flickr.com/photos/justinminns/sets/72157616046760457/ )...
  13. A good sign that the club is forever evolving. I saw you heading our way once' date=' my new hair cut is taking every one by surprise. I'm lousy with secrets especially ones so good ( Go Jenson... Go Jenson ... ) so didn't hunt you down ;-) [/quote'] lol that'll be why I didnt recognise you! How drastic is the haircut then? I managed to avoid the result all day and watched the whole thing when I got home, so good job I didnt see you then... good start to the season (show and formula 1 )
  14. yeah we've got walkie talkies but forgot to take them!
  15. What size? Which BMC do you have as they have different diameters on the engine side. When I had mine they only had 1 size for the VR6 which had a diameter of about 80mm ish (cant remember as it was about 2003!) so I just used a straight SFS silicon connector but now there is one with a 100mm diameter
  16. SFS do them... I paid £8 for mine a few years ago
  17. Dont know the part numbers but if you go into VW make sure you get the correct ones for your splitter (looks like you have an early deep one)
  18. The forecast is for sunny intervals but bearing in mind it's been raining on and off all week and this is santapod we're talking about you never know I'll be going up unless it's absolutely hammering it down
  19. SFS are pretty good and cheaper than Samco
  20. Yeah with a dry cloth the morning after :s so you think like a rinse and wipe down wil keep it cleaner for longer when it gets dusty which is every day lol? As has been said wiping a dirty car with a cheap microfibre is just going to add swirls or scratches! If you're using the car daily at this time of year, it doesnt matter what you clean it with, it will get dirty again quickly... I just wash mine weekly, spray it with final touch detailer then dry it and it keeps the shine up. If you're really bothered by it getting dusty then you can get a showroom duster to remove that (very handy for c
