yeah the carbon filter is a cylinrical shaped thing with 2 hoses on the top, you should be able to see the top of it under the front of your airbox... it filters out most of the bad stuff from the fuel line and recirculates the rest... its only actually neccesary for US emission laws Ive taken mine out to make room for a cold air duct!
cheers rick phat28vr6 explained it to me last nite... If I understood right I need to remove the breather pipe and plug the hole it leaves in the air intake then leave the right arrowed pipe in place but block it where it used to join the breather pipe (where u can see the silver clip) not forgetting to fit the breather filter!
If I remove the breather tube coming out of the cam cover.... the connector, which does seem to be attached, and the hoses arrowed are all joined to it... what do I do with them? apologies in advance if Im being dim
When you fit a breather filter (like the 1 in phat28vr6's gallery) what do you do with the electrical connector fitted to one of the pipes you remove and what does it do?
I wouldnt go for springs only... because the shorter stiffer springs wont be matched to the standard shocks meaning the ride will be awful and the shocks will wear out quicker (trust me I did it on my first gti!) you can get uprated shocks and springs kits for as little as £150ish (raceland.co.uk) which will do the job, should cost about £50 to get em fitted... dont expect too much though because you get what you pay for IMO
thats a bonus then! excellent power for a na VR... Id be interested in hearing more details of whats been done if you find out... for future reference! Its hard knowing which route to go down with VR tuning
