  1. Today new coilovers order. Wietec ones. Also new top mounts ordered. Looking at some sparco fixed bucket seats but unsure as I might go for recliners... It's only going to be an everyday car until my mate turbos his hybusa Westfield. Then it will be an all out track monster..
  2. That is a good idea. Shame they are around £60 a set
  3. I have just purchased a set of wietec hicon tx coilovers http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/coilover-suspension-kits/car/volkswagen/golf-mk3-vr6/weitec-hicon-tx-coilover-kit-lowers-40-70mm-2 These will be going on the mk2 vrt and I was wondering what people use to protect their coilovers and look after them during these winter months. I had a quick search on google but most of it was across the pond.... Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. Remove seam sealer? Sanding and paint. A lot of time too...
  5. Unfortanetly the general rule of turboing an n/a engine is you get what you pay for!
  6. Bolts to hold carrier on? Just go b n q or something! Take your current bolt with you. Don't get them too long or try will pole out and touch the disc
  7. Can I ask why it has such a powerful fuel pump? Is it an inline pump or an intank? If its an inline, the fpr probably can't cope with the amount of fuel that thing is shovin into you engine hence the overfueling.
  8. Try eBay, I think it's off a 316? Make sure it's a top fill one...
  9. Water system is hidden by either an in line filler neck in the top hose or a top fill radiator. Fiat ones or BMW ones fit quite well. Also you need some hose joiners to delete the standard expansion tank. Battery in boot. Washer bottle in boot. Extending the wiring is there is gets complicated. Basically take the front end off and you will be able too see where you can hide things etc. Obviously you can't take it as far as some of the pics you put up as I'm assuming that you will be using it every day?
  10. As you can see this is a problem! Lol the exhaust was pivoting on the steering rack due to the massive flex below in the exhaust, so had to raise up the engine. Took apart my spare engine mounts and made some huge spacers for the engine to sit on.
  11. I used carburettor cleaner to clean mine. Worked a treat.
  12. Today there was lots of drawing, marking out and measuring. Figured out where oil cooler and intercooler is being mounted. Been grinding away at the big bumper bar to make space for the intercooler. Need to cut a little more away to get enough clearance for it. Will take some more pictures tomorrow. Also exhaust is getting dropped off by Helen tomorrow afternoon. Wiring loom is modded to be hides and ready to go in. Shall be in on Friday. More updates tomorrow.
  13. Yeah agree. Spend money on the big valve head. Unless its cracked or something. Maybe get it tested?
  14. I think the fan plugs are different. Also no isv.
  15. Shouldn't leak at all? Something's not right if they are leaking! And definitely the large valve head will perform better. More air etc getting in/out.
  16. There are a couple of fiat ones that fit and work too. Or you could get the rad and buy a filler neck.
  17. Yeah they do fit with a bit of custom work. You will have to buy two hose joiners. I think they are 25 mm.
  18. Ah ok. Thank you. Will change the servo! Today got most of the engine loom done. Had to modify it a little bit, the headlight loom etc. also had to take out the fan module. Didn't get to mount the intercooler as the roof started leaking. As jake predicted I am going to have to run slim line fans. But due to the sp intake being huge, I'm goin to mount them on the front to blow air into it. Today also sorted out rear offside door as was playing up. And fitted the drivers seat properly. Still doesn't slide backwads though :S
