  1. ICM the thing that fires the coils, its on the back of the coilpack, if you unscrew the plate on the back of the coil pack and loosen the 4 bolts on the top you remove the coil pack from the ICM, i got one spare if your anywere near bedford
  2. hmm just a random one but your cable to the TB is fully free and dont snag, and the goo affter 3000rpm i had that happen to me with a bad coil pack, but the high ideling sound to be a bad TB posible broke, be the first place to look as you said you had it off and put it back on and it failed, try unplug your battery, short the terminals together to discharge the ecu then connect back up to the battery, the put the key in the igition and turn it till you hear the buzzing sound and let it do its thing till the bbuzzing stops without touching the pedal, then start it and see what you get, i also
  3. it dont sound like the coil pack to me, it sound more like the crank sensor, the coil pack rarly just dies, it would usally be missing first, i i were you i would have a good look at the coil pack so see if its cracked, if its not cracked its probley not that, but even if its cracked it might still run, so if the coil pack looks allright i would firstly change the crank sensor on the front right hand side of the engine as this may be stoping your ecu from knowing where where the cilinders are and stoping the ignition, if you change that and still in problems suspect the ecu :-( as for the buzz
  4. you still got the car? if so how much are you looking for it
  5. if your coil lead in dameged (i got a spare) coud be stoping the the spark from going anywhere, also your injectors are they pluged in, othere than that you need your maf lamba and crank sensors for it to run as wel as lots more but i think there the only ones stoping it from starting
  6. the coil pack normaly takes out two cylinders if the coilpack gos wrong, if you got a spare coi pack try thats, if you got one with bad coils just change the imc (i maybe wrong with the name) but its the part on the side of the pack with 4 forks coming off it, mine went wrong and i lost two cylinders
  7. hm send it back and get one off ebay for 100quid or something, cant you buy a auto vr for less than 400quid
  8. you would be better off with a supercharger on your engine if its all running well and that means the power but with more touqe
  9. you need a 80c one, dont get a low temp thermostat as you engine is designed to run at the temp vw wanted you to run it at

  18. if your having trouble getting it out, take the car for a drive and undo it while its hot, thats the way i get round it
  19. if your only using the car for racing in, just take the front seats out, slid them off the rails, then just strip as much as you can leaving the front rails and bits you want left in, but you will be lucky to get another 100kg out
