  1. ok i checked the intake, theres no problems there, the coil pack has noo cracks in it, theres new ht leads and plugs, the maf, lamba, cat, fuel fillter, cam sensore and grounds have all being changed, im lost now i still have the problem of losing power at about 3,6k rpm its winding me up a fair bit now, has anyone got any idears of where next to look :-s
  2. well i changed the pump today, not to hard but you skink of petrol for the rest of the day. but still its not fixed, i might try regaping the plugs a bit smaller see if that helps
  3. r1000? the relay been burnt is a sign of to much current going through it, normally means a short somewhere down the line, have you tryed vagcom to see if it will talk to the car, if not then maybe the ecu is blown, i dose sound like it went a bit mental before it died, is it a obd1 or 2 as i know the obd1 will refuse to run if some of the sensors dont work.
  4. the thread is on the caliper side, so a new caliper is what he would need

  6. wow another vr in bedford, look out for a golf cl with vr6 markered on the back lol, i got a mate who loves his vr6 in kempston, he will probley do your chains and head gasket for a good price, it is a big job though, send me a PM if you want to get in touch with me or him about it
  7. i know what your saying my insurence went from 1300 being 20 to 1700 this year me being 21, it so stupid, its like there trying there hardest to get every driver under 25 off the road

  9. i got some jbl 6.5inch speakers in my doors all four of them they just fit in and you can put the mesh infront of the spearker to protect it as it wont fit, but yea they sound good and have inbuilt tweaters, they were 60quid per pair
  10. it probley the water pump making the noise, the belt cant be over tighting as the tensioner is just a spring with no ajustments, mine whines big time too, its a mix of the tensioner and water pump making the noise, if you need parts go in the market section on this form as you should be able to get things like "air con pump" for far less then 100quid and you can ask if it makes any noise before you buy it.
  11. take the ecu apart and put it somewhere warm to dry for a night if you think its got wet, just hope its not fryed
  12. its because the oil slushs about in the sump, you probley need a bit of oil too

  15. i think the ecu should be water resistant, but it sounds like your ecu might of gave up :-/
  16. lol didnt think i was getting atacked lol, its cool, my cars full half done things thats what makes it a project lol, tbh i only got putty on my sump as its cracked lol
  17. ok i so i might be wrong :-o, im sure the golf mk3 has its reinforcment panels which the sills go over then in the case of the vr a plastic cover ontop of the lot, i did say i may be wrong though, and i would putty it if i had to have a car till i can find a way of welding it, its not like you wernt driving the day before your mot. metal putty is well good for the odd temporary job, temporary been the word here

    ok im fairly sure this is the wright number, your looking for a guy called Clive and the numbers 01525 210978, just call up and tell him you want everything to convert to a vr6, if its not the wright number tell me because i have a number of one of his mates, but im not sure if he works there anymore so you cant call him.

    hi, i got this scrappy neaar worburn sands, he done all the running kit, brakes, rear front subframe, engine gearbox the lot to make your car vr6 everything down to the little imobiliser box behind the dash, he charged me 250quid like 9 months ago, i will try find the number for you
  25. oh yea i changed the cat and air fillter too, so nothin should be blocked, and i cleaned the tb when i started getting problems and it had no change
